All the haters on this thread should keep in mind that after six races last season Stoner has 51 points and one podium, and this his fourth season on the Ducati.

Stoner had had two crashes by this point, but on here it is rationalized by the incredible speed that Stoner had - even though he didn't win a race until the second half the season.

Yes we know that and Stoner didn’t have such a crash hot 2010 season on the Ducati which was probably his worst year that is why he was fed up with Ducati and went to Honda! Which is the best move he’s ever made and now we will see what this guy has in him and if he can be as consistent and as outstanding as Val was in his years with the Jap manufacturers. But in saying this will Val get a W/Chip with Ducati? And will Val get a 3rd at Assen? Like Stoner did last year.

Stoner’s 2010 year was as follows 4xDNF’s, 1xDNS, 3x5th, 1x4th, 4x3rd,2x2nd, 3x1st…there were no 7th or 6th amongst those but don’t forget that Val’s statistics for this year are better than what really happened on the paddock. This is my opinion and I'm sticking to it! Like if Lorenzo, Simo and Spies didn’t bin it then he would have come 8th or 9th.

But if we want to compare apples with apples then I won’t even go to the statistics of Stoners from 2007 and compare them to Rossi’s for 2011 or any year that he will ride the Ducati
<

It's a good point and explains why Rossi is struggling...but he is the the Doctor and will find a long-term solution to it (the GP12 is already said to have lost the rear-wheel pumping issues that the GP11 has), rather than just adopting a short-term 'win or bin it' mentality.

It is amusing that jibes about win it or bin it riding are now the best you have got , having been proveably wrong about pretty much everything you have ever said regarding a certain rider, to whom you are doubtless again referring.

The ducati needs to be re-designed as I have said all along. Getting valentino's and jb's input and the injection of large amounts of funds may well be helpful in achieving this, and as I have also always said I have little doubt that valentino will be a strong contender next year, but so will stoner.

You mean the year when the Ducati had significantly more straight-line speed than the rest of the field?

At the end of the day it's a fact. Imagine the hysteria on here if Rossi crashed five times in races this season - you wouldn't hear the end of it. Yeah he's not having a great season, a fact that is being rejoiced on here and Crash.net. Why? Because when you've had the kind of success Rossi has had it causes envy, envy turns into hate, and haters are the end result.

It would be something like the hysteria being imagined when he gets 5th, 3rd, 6th , 13th

...a 6th or 7th is better than a DNF.

oh here we go again, straight line speed advantage this advantage sholder injury not enough development by stoner on the ducati etc etc and what is the classic excuse for stoners success this year, oh the Honda has more power more speed better front end better gearbox what else?

We will see how Rossi's 2011 year pans out in comparison to Stoners 2010 year? I’ve already made a chart and it’s not looking good for Rossi from now to what Stoner has achieved in 2010, Rossi will have to do some deep searching on that Ducati to be even comparable to Stoner e.g. from now on he will have to be placed in the next 4 gp's 3rd, 3rd, 2nd & 3rd, let’s see?

It strikes me that Stoner's 2010 & Rossi's 2011 (so far) a eerily similar; Both have had a chance to win (Qatar '10, Jerez '11) & thrown it away, & both have scored a podium in the first 3 to 4 races. The only differences being that Rossi was lucky enough to get up again in Jerez, & despite his lack of pace in Silverstone he still managed to score. I would compare Rossi's Silverstone to Stoner's Le Mans DNF in 2010. To date it seems to be even, & whether or not Rossi's Melandri-esque British performance is a blip or not remains to be seen. However no amount of wishful thinking is going to bring you that answer before the end of the season. & I think it is worth remembering that Stoner's first win didn't come until the 13th race of the 2010 season.

Nogive nino and Co, a break ...... they are right ........... Rossi was a complete ........ for going to Ducati .......... thats what you are saying isn't it Nino?

Until now yes they are very much the same except stoner had 2 dnf's to race 6 and he had 4 dnf's and 1 dns all season, but let’s see from now on and until the end of the season, will Val win 3 gp's? will Val get 2x2nds or 4x3rds and achieve 211 points. It will be very interesting!

Schwantz & the Suzuki sound a very similar situation to Stoner & the Ducati. Except I never heard Stoner badmouth the bike or his teamates, whether they were on factory or satellite equipment. So, in this case it seems Schwantz is a whinger, based on your standards. Double standards dipshit.

I think Melandri and a few Ducati team member's might disagree with you there !

Is that the same Ducati team who went with him to Honda? and the same Melandri who likes Casey but dislikes Rossi?

or the Ducati guys left at Ducati whoreally like him and wish he was back? Guareschi etc.

Yes but Rossi is a ..... and he will never ride the duke like Styoner did look at the stats of 2010 when stoner rode the Duke and look at rossi's stats in 2011

And 37.542 seconds behind his team mate Nicky at Silverstone and 64.526 seconds behind Stoner!

But there is a difference, Stoner has never finished 37 seconds behind his teammate in 2010.
Well better that than in the gravel, which by my estimation is quite a lot further behind your teammate.
