I think he was but Harada would have won the race and the title so it may have been a DQ and points penalty ........... may see if the google finger works

I say that as I am sure Harada did get the title but it was 'withdrawn' but will see what can be found

I thought I better do some research and here's what I found out...
If Loris hadn't taken him out, Harada would have come second because Rossi won the race. Capirossi was disqualified so remained 4 pts ahead of Harada but because Harada was taken out, Rossi finished second in the championship.

The final result for the championship was
Capirossi 204
Rossi 201
Harada 200

Capirossi was sacked by Aprilia though.
I forgot about that incident, but I do recall the starting line incident in the following year where Capirossi swerved across and crashed into another rider. I figured at that the time it was just a ....-up since it was so unbelievable. But yeh, the Harada incident was a bit out there. I always liked Harada, especially his first season.

I can't google or YouTube .... and am using Edge in a taxi instead of 4G. So I am relying on memory.
Harada was leading. If he won he won the Championship. Capirossi was behind and spudded into Tetsuya. Which allowed Rossi to go through for the win.
Probably wrong. Will check once I get home to a VPN.

That Aprilia team had The Worst Gianelli Exhaust ads. All three of them in Wayfarers, holding Exhausts like pistols.

As a Lorenzo fan, I find it shameful that he chose to accept his award personally given the circumstances of his 'win'.

Ah, but Marquez gets knocked of quite easy; Rossi gave him enough space to run wide and it was MM who hit him and crashed because he is, as his history reveals, incapable of saving his ride if raced hard.

Think you need educating R1fan

Lorenzo was un arguably faster than Lorenzo for at least the 2nd half of the season. More wins, poles and fastests laps.

If Rossi was the fast guy, why was he fighting for the lower podium positions in Phillip Island and Sepang? Why did some riders have to move over for him in Valencia?

Thats your argument? That's like saying if Rossi shot Marquez, it was Marquez' fault for not dodging the bullet. Rossi initiated the whole thing, but your post tells me everything I need to know about you. That is, you are just another one of the hoards of Pro Rossi protesters who has joined this forum in the last 3 weeks and who has no sense of rational logic, nor a love of motorcycle racing.

Lorenzo and Rossi have raced against each on the same bike in the same team for six full seasons, 107 races. This is how their relative performance breaks down:

Capirossi was ahead by 4 points headed into the last race. Harada would have won the title by finishing 2nd and Capirossi 3rd, but we know what happened. It was a chicken .... move and still to this day i cant believe was allowed to stand. Rossi's comment after the race has some deja vu

"Is the best result, Capirossi is my friend and we are italians".

I think a better gun analogy is Rossi put a gun to his head, MM made his move to disarm Rossi and the gun went off. Murder or manslaughter the internet jury is out but he is guilty.

He made his move to get away from the psycho with the gun (not disarm) and found himself face down on the ground with a bullet for trying to flee.

An even better analogy is, MM saw VR's exhaust, thought it was a gun, couldn't figure out how to dodge the bullet in case it fired and ran straight into it, crashed, and cried like a baby.
