We know that all the riders in MotoGP have great talent to race these prototype bikes and that Rossi is arguably the best ever, but this season The Doctor has impressed me beyond what I thought possible:<ul>[]Knocked off at the first corner of round one and salvages 2 points
[]Two DNFs in a row due to things out of his control (a tyre and an engine failure) scoring him 0 points
[]As good as breaks his wrist and fractures his ankle, then on the same weekend manages to score 8 points from last on the grid
[]One week later gets second place from 12th on the grid
[]Two weeks after that gets 1st from 11th on the grid, even though all the Yamahas didn't perform well over the weekend.[/list]That's not to mention the chatter problems he and Edwards were having along with not so good qualifying results and a 4th place at Turkey.
He has missed out on a lot of points and is still riding with breaks/fractures, yet despite all this he's now second in the championship, 26 points behind Hayden. He still has a lot of work to do to retain his title though, but imagine what the other riders will be thinking if he does do it this year; how do you stop him if you can't beat him when he has had a season like this?!
