I don't know about anyone else but I don't rate Lollo's wet weather riding that much.

Neither does race direction.

I'll get my coat...

According to the BOM the forecast has cleared a little for Sunday - they're now predicting only a slight chance of morning drizzle then a mostly sunny afternoon. Though that will no doubt change again before the race

Can't see anyone beating Casey if he stays on the bike here.

He isn't just a tenth or two faster than the others traditionally here. It's usually quite a gap.

Weather forecast - Friday (shower or two) 18C

Saturday (shower or two clearing) 17c

Sunday (partly Cloudy) 20c

Unfortunately all the warmer weather was midweek but never mind.

I'll be heading down on Friday & Sunday. Gave my Saturday tickets to my brother in law to enjoy.

Will post pics if I can get near the fence. They are predicting record crowds. Ticket sales are double last year at the same time.

The problem for stoner is that he hasn't been just a tenth or two slower in the last few races. The last race was kind to him as it was wet so less strain on the injury. I don't think he will have improved enough but we'll know after the first couple of sessions, depending on the weather of course - wet conditions will mask it again.

Doesn't Stoner pull 1+ second a lap faster than anyone else at PI?

I'm going for ankle or not he will be out to win, the only real competition he will have will be himself.

Oh and ATM I have "patchy and overcast" for the weekend at PI. No "real rain" on the way at present.

Hopefully Casey is feeling alright, last race at the island. I predict he will be leaving his signature at Casey's Corner all weekend.

Casey

Dani

Jorge

Bautista

Dovisioso

For interests sake. It would be nice if Lorenzo could get a slow leak or loose wire or something, end up down the field or A DNF, tighten up the championship a bit more, maybe he can ride Ben's bike.

What, like holding a special ceremony to mark a corner being named after him?

Does the fact that the 'ceremony' occured at before lunch, on the Thursday before the event, validate or invalidate Jumkie's point?

As far as I am aware Dorna had zero to do with this honour as it was the Phillip Island race track management that renamed turn three to "Stoner Corner". Dorna will probably be pretty glad to see the back of him - I doubt they will do anything for his retirement...

Yup. And hence my question.

Pedrosa

Lorenzo

Stoner

There's some really unhealthy paranoia going around on here. It's kinda disturbing to read, & you have to wonder if people realise how they make themselves look.

No smiley face:

Like others have said, this has nothing to do with Dorna. Dorna will do nothing for Stoner except slam the door on his arse on the way out. Poor Dorna, they don't realise that Stoner is walking away with a big chunk of their credibility. Also a fair chunk of their fan base.

Stoner for the win. PI requires Mans Balls not the Metro Balls that the Euro's have.

Casey is one rider...if that fan base goes with him then good riddance since they aren't fans of the sport they are fair weather fans anyway.....

Regarding this weekend, I am hoping Casey will do his best and beat JLo.....and give Dani enough breathing space to win.....why? Cause i want a Valencia show down for the title.....

Hmm in terms of the championship I'd have thought they'd want Pedrosa to win this one to hold on to his title hopes for a little while longer. Sounds like this is Stoner's track though and I am looking forward to seeing a good race hopefully.

To be honest it doesn't really matter to me who wins the race, I just hope Cal doesn't throw it off the track or run out of fuel again!

Hahaha.....Just like all the Rossi fans tuned out when he broke his leg and failed on the Ducati forcing Dorna to negotiate his way back on to the Yamaha so they don't lose any fair weather fans.

I would suggest that Stoner fans are racing fans because thats what Stoner does. He races he doesn't do clown shows. Stoner fans and non Stoner fans who leave the sport with him are leaving because the 'sport' has gone out of MotoGP and the show is all that matters. But there is another thread about that so lets leave it there.

Cant believe the season is almost over. Still cant believe Stoner is retiring. We are being robbed from watching maybe the most electrifying racer the world has ever seen, because DORNA could not stand to see him succeed, especially at the expense of their chosen one. He said just this week, that the 2012 RCV was the best bike he had ever ridden, UNTIL, Dorna, for some reason decided it would be a good idea to change the tires that the bike was developed around. Can we not run off that stupid .......... Ezpeleta and keep Stoner.

Sounds like one of Jumkie,s conspiracy theories, but I think in this case you are mostly

right..

Casey will try really really hard to win this one, but I,m not sure if the body will behave. Here,s hoping.

ps Hayden to beat Rossi

pps: Stoner , after 2-3 years of all the fishing and horse-riding he can manage, will seriously consider a comeback. If the schemozzle of motogp regulations is sorted by then it may happen.
