New Crew Chief For Hayden

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (#27aus @ May 11 2009, 07:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>and this is another proof that puig had it right... hayden is a hypocrite... blaming crew chief for his own lack of talent.

Explain the `Puig` bit to me ,27.

I think he has to put his opinions out strongly is he wants to stay in MotoGP. Good for him though a shakeup was needed badly. Too bad Suzuki believe in a job for life strategy...they could use a revamp also.

GS, you've had some great posts lately (what has happened to you).

I agree, he has to "grow a set" in regards to asertivness and influence. However, not everybody's character lends itself to pushing one's opinion on others. He's a humble lad from a conserative family. Have you ever met his dad, geez the guy is a teddy bear. They are the types that you would love to have over for dinner but not so much if you need a cut-throat dictator like Alberto Puig. I suppose a balance would be good though, as we see the positive results that having an ....... be your mentor has provided for Peders, eh.

You know I can appreciate when someone can "see" what's going on.

You need to gloat more, it's very intoxicating.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Jumkie @ May 11 2009, 02:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Speaking of flamers...

Migs & Company and other resident haters (excluding Pinky--who is beyond hate.), can you see why this guy is respected by most reasonable people around here? Take a look at this quote above; it typifies Hayden's attitude and understanding of the sport, and more importantly, his character as a man. This is how a man speaks in regards to his profession (even the overtly ...... ones like his treatment at Repsol Honda) or with his new team in the mists of struggling. None of his fans say he has "super human powers" or is the 2nd coming to "sliced bread" as you boys try and suggest, but rather a humble but better than average rider that is a stand-up guy with a great work ethic. Take a look at most riders who have struggled and you will find that they .... on the bike and team openly when the going gets tough, even if they do it mildly like Dovi has recently with Repsol, or just blatantly as Melandri did at Gresini. If there was ever a pass for a guy to talk .... about his team, it would have been Nicky at Repsol, yet you heard nothing of the sort accept praise and gratitude for the opportunity. Now again, he puts it on himself, saying he is the principle person that has to step it up. He recognizes and openly admits that he, as the rider, has to make the difference.

Try as you may, you will never be able to rewrite the history book Migs; 2006 happened! It was a fantastic year for him, and obviously he hasn't had another outstanding one like that so far, but he is trying and we as his fans can't ask for much other than the team exhausting there side of the effort as well (something that you and resident haters concluded as excuse making while at Repsol). And every time you try and make some not-so-ambiguous underhanded dig at Hayden, it tickles me that it still is a thorn in your mind that Nicky has a title to his name.

Credit to Ducati , they do seem like they are trying everything. Much respect two both team and rider.

One of the Best post I have red in a long TIME!!!!

FYI scum bag, your ... just over powered your mouth! When Rossi left HRC, Burgess ask to be Nicky's crew chief. They said no, because honda believes its the bike, not the rider & crew. If Nicky is a crap rider would the top crew chief ask for him? Do I need to explain the history you dont know?

I think he (or his management) actually shook up Suppo up 'cause face it as much as I like Melandri he isn't a world champion like Hayden. Suppo can't just let him flounder at the back of the pack everyone (well everyone rational) knows he is top 5 so if he isn't there it is a bike problem or a team problem. He had to be a bit more assertive. Now Ducati is doing something about it so that is the result. Internalizing everything is not productive and I think he has a tendency to do it since like you say he is so grateful. I remember calling for a young Italian interpreter model type to help Nicky with the native lingo but I guess that no one important was listening...what is happening to my worldwide influence?

My only fear in all this is that what if coming changes screw up the bike for Stoner. I want him to win the title this year.

This is a great move for Ducati and Nicky. I still suspect that things will be difficult for Nicky for some time to come. I'd be thrilled if we saw results by the time Laguna rolls around. I don't expect much prior to that. He'll need three or four races to get this all sorted out.

Ditto. It's kind of interesting. If Pupulin is still there and he's analyzing all the data, Juan Martinez is simply a glorified translator. Why didn't they go to the local uni and get a bi-lingual engineering student?

This will certainly lead to friction between Pupulin and Martinez b/c they will have differing opinions on how things should work. While I don't agree with Pinky, I'm a bit gutted for Pupulin, Hayden doesn't speak English particularly well, either.

BTW Sete must be fuming. Ducati declined his request to use Juan at the end of last season.

Lets hope nobody tells colin edwards, if catches a wiff of team personel changing hands he might not be able to cope

I'm pretty sure Juan is more than a translator and will be directing developments/settings. It's pretty obvious to Ducati and Nicky who the weak link is in the garage. They were just being nice saying it was a language thing. 2 of his other riders spoke Italian. How'd that go?

Top 7? 18th is not right and you know it. On any day with a decent machine that he can ride he's top 7 minimum and I think top 5 depending on the day Dovi Pedders Horhay and Melandri have....sorry, it's true. Now either cry in your hankie or, do something else with it. Your choice.
