Mugello Discussion **Spoiler**

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (skidmark @ Jun 4 2007, 12:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I thought it was a belter of a race. Rossi rode the wheels off that Yamaha, true champions ride, flawless. The yamaha boys got it completely right. Looks like the Ducati boys had tyre issues this time, they couldn't maintain their early pace and the Michelin guys got stronger and stronger. Hopper is really getting used to riding at or very near the front, like he's got the taste for it. The battle between John and Rossi was fantastic, Rossi got the better of him but only just, great stuff. Pedrosa still isn't tough enough in my opinion though he got a great result, I think he should have had a better crack at the win, Rossi is still too good for him. Barros' third shows how good the d'Antin Ducati can be, Toseland should keep an eye on this team. Cracking ride from Elias to get past Loris for 6th. Kawasaki are screwed, dePuniet and Jaque are a waste of time.
yup i pretty much agree with your take on the events matey,

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (frosty58 @ Jun 4 2007, 03:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>not according to bartol.

Any details? Even at KTM's press release it says the crash with luntic was the cause but at Mikas home page it says the bikes "stream finished", what ever that means, just before the crash.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Ospi @ Jun 3 2007, 08:48 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Any1 who thinks barros is a waste is a bloody ...... Stoner struggled today, not sure what it was, tyres perhaps. Rossi was brilliant and back to his best. Michelin will be happy as well.

for openers - Good onya Alex. D'Antin bike beats factory machines and Alex isn't exactly built like a pedrozwerg - so much for weight & size (dis)advantages in this class. Now the other Alex should get going - one down on HH isn't bad - but he shpuld follow the old guy and do better. I guess old slow-hand Nicky started the commentator fad - "mature rider" with his consistent supporting roles on the podium - now Stoner's settling for 4th, 3rd the time before is getting the praise. What makes MotpGp the absolutely most interesting sport is watching a Rossi go for the win. Look's like michelin is making good tyres again and Yamaha is prepping the bike to do what it does best. Now they need some more real power

rossi is the man he will be champion this year. IMHO. he just got new parts from the engineers in japan and I think it was obvious that the ducs are not so mighty anymore. keep kickin ... rossi.

This was a masterful ride by Rossi. He didn't get a great start; he didn't recover right away either. However, once he started his climb, the Doctor was unstoppable. It wasn't exciting in a "who's gonna win?" kind of way; it was exciting in a "man he's got this thing by the throat" kind of way. Pedrosa made a few runs at Rossi down the front stretch, but he couldn't touch Rossi on the brakes. That was probably the coolest thing about Rossi's performance: his stability under braking at the end of the year's fastest strait. No wiggling, no sliding, he was smooth...damn smooth. It was like his bike was being pulled on a trailer.

Good ride by Pedrosa, but he just isn't there yet. The broadcast showed several slow-mo shots of Honda's pint-sized jockey spinning the rear tire exiting turn one, trying to get every bit of acceleration so he can chase Rossi down. I remember seeing Pedro do the same thing on the Jerez broadcast; he was trying to keep Rossi from running away then too. It's funny, people sometimes refer to spinning one's wheels to express futility or a lack of progress (e.g. congress tried to come to a solution, but the two parties were just spinning their wheels). Dani was once again spinning his wheels, literally and figuratively.

Back to Rossi: is this race the springboard for The Doctor's push for the title? What we got on Sunday was a dose of classic Rossi, which arrived on the heels of several tough weekends. He dominated in Jerez, only to finish on the podium just once for the three races following Spain's first GP. Did Rossi return to form on Sunday? Or did Mugello's long, fast turns suit the M1? Jerez had some long, fast, sweeping turns as well. Qatar, Istanbul, and Shanghai did not have as many fast turns (throw out Istanbul and France due to tire problems and rain).

One thing is for sure: your doubts lose some weight when you're talking about Rossi.

Get well Nicky!

Oh, one question: does Moto GP have to use the nancy boy chicane that was installed for F1?
