Mugello Discussion **Spoiler**

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (roger-m @ Jun 3 2007, 03:50 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>sorry i just cant understand race fans who say things like this, with all the problems that have happend during races latley nothing is in the bag ,not untill the chequered flag, watching rossi work his way from 8th to a 3 second win was not at all boring to me.
barros took the 3rd because he's a late breaker, nice to see him on the rostrum again and good for my fantasy league.
<

my sarcastic comment is "stoner was sure owned by rossi today"
<

joke people.

Roger Dont take this the wrong way, but there were a few races last year and this season were you mentioned races as being boring. Even though they were clearly entertaining races from a non-Rossi point of view. You mentioned that the race in Turkey was boring when there was a great battle between 2nd to 7th places. I just find it abit hypocrytical of you.

Haven't had a chance to read everyones posts, and as impressive as it was to see Rossi pull this one off, it was Stoner that did it for me. Once he was out of the lead I thought he would end up crashing out. He really showed that he has what it takes.

Anyone know what happened to Marco's race?

how anyone can say that was boring is, well krazy (yes, with a k!) to moi!

Vale! Vale! Vale!! oh, after the poor start i was feeling some bad vibes, but what a ride, Barros (had written him off).. ride of the day for me! Loris, insane, Good job from that Stoner block, and Dani had a solid race.. I want to see Nicky do something now, this is getting silly him being so far back! and Edwards, what the .... is wrong with him? does he want a easy ride in WSBK next year? he's just proving he hasnt got it for GP this year! very dissapointed with him!

did i say, Yay! VALE!

Today was the best race there has been this season. There was no certainty that Stoner would dominate again:

Pedrosa was very quick all weekend, but had trouble in qualifying because of the wet.

Vermeulen was very quick in qualifying because of the rain and because of having a good qualifying position, would he be able to keep it up in the dry?

Stoner, pole position man, Ducati's track and the straight.

Rossi; defending his reign of winning at Mugello.

Capirossi, also on a Ducati which is fast.

Barros and Hofmann: their bikes.

Jacque was fast in qualifying

Well, there are many people who could have stood a chance of winning, so it was exciting. Plus, I didn't know who I wanted to win; Pedrosa or Rossi

please find the post where i said that, i dont ever remember saying a motogp race was boring altho ive made a few pissed posts in my time but it just doesnt sound like my style..

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Rossifan @ Jun 3 2007, 06:02 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>BTW did anyone watch the 250cc race, i watched some HL and bautista knocked of lorenzo in the last lap, man he was MAD after that.
yes the 250 race was just epic, lorenzo was mad he crashed altho i think it looked like a fair racing incident, after all he also had a racing incident that took kallio out of the race.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (roger-m @ Jun 3 2007, 04:22 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>after all he also had a racing incident that took kallio out of the race.
no kallios ktm just crapped out & jl just missed eating his whole bike!

Nice race, I was hoping Dani would win, he had the best pace in dry conditions, but he couldn't keep up his initial pace.

Rossi just reminded us again why he is a 7x world champion, I dislike the guy, but he is a ....... brilliant racer I must admit.

Today Stoner didn't have a great race, but if on a bad day he still manages 4th his championship chances are looking really good. The important thing is to keep the bike on the rubber side.

Barros was great, but his inconsistency baffles me, someone of his experience should do better on bad days. Anyway kudos to him this was D'antin's best result in a long time!!

It was me, and I still think it was boring, boring as in 1st & 2nd were decided before halfway, with big gaps. 3 - 7 or 8 - 12 fight doesn't really have the same interest. I also called the Jerez race boring btw, so this is not about rossi, allthough I suspect quite a few found lots of "excitement" in wathcing rossi go bacwards at Turky.

And the race today was ok, but compared to last year it absolutly crap in the second half.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (frosty58 @ Jun 3 2007, 11:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>no kallios ktm just crapped out & jl just missed eating his whole bike!
And there was nothing wrong with Kalio's KTM other than a crap exit of the turn. A racing incident but non the less, the second time Lorenzo hit someone from behind he payed the price. Serves him just right.

mabe thats why he kicked off a bit after the race, because he was angry at him self for getting involved in two incidents and a lost race, pretty frosty podium aswell, non of the ridres would even look at eachother

great stuff.

Well I've only seen the highlights. Before the adverts, it was a heck of a scrap, with Valentino forcing his way through to the front with about 16 laps to go.After the ads, 3 laps to go, and Rossi's gone in the distance. It must have been an awesome display of dominance. I don't know how much faster you go with the crowd behind you, but weren't they superb?

With Casey, to me it appears it's not the long straights where his advantage lies, it's the 'square' corners leading onto them. He seemed to be trying harder for 4th than the wins that came easy. I wonder how he will cope with the pressure now the thought of World Champion is a reality, but obviously still a long way away.

Colin Edwards and Nicky Hayden? What on earth is going on?

Some fantastic racing on display.
But how many times have we seen Capi get himself in a good position & then just bomb back down the places. Shame.

But congrats to Rossi & a HUGE pat on the back to Alex Barros. I like to see it!!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (mylexicon @ Jun 3 2007, 05:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Is it just me or does this season suck. No more epic battles, just lots of bitching from riders on bikes they can't seem to get setup. Rossi fries his tires every other round, Hayden looks like he's riding a tricycle. Honda built a bike for their horse jockey and no one else can ride it (think Melandri). Suzuki is barely better than last year despite the preseason hype.

Right I think you must have been watching Formula one Monaco round or something

Did you not see Vale work his way up through the field? did you not see him fight it out with Pedrosa? Did you not see The Ducati totally trounce everyone on the straight and still not win? Did you not see Barros get a podium. Now I don't know what result you wanted but I can't really remember anything not to like Rossi only made one bad move and that was his start. And the Suzuki is way better than last year, and the tyres are way better than last year. And there wasn't really any epic battles last year either, apart from Assen which was just hilarious. Maybe not for Edwards but for me.

Now what was wrong with Pedrosa and Vale fighting it out?
Alright it wasn't still on at the end of the race but there was still other stuff going on like a bog standard Duke taking a factory Duke?

Sorry I'm just puzzled

yup i must say i also found it to be edge of the seat stuff, i find it really funny when ever rossi has a doninating race and wins people say its boring yet if stoner had a dominating win its a faultless ride and a deserved win, im confused ,i reall dont understand what people expect from a race.

I thought it was a belter of a race. Rossi rode the wheels off that Yamaha, true champions ride, flawless. The yamaha boys got it completely right. Looks like the Ducati boys had tyre issues this time, they couldn't maintain their early pace and the Michelin guys got stronger and stronger. Hopper is really getting used to riding at or very near the front, like he's got the taste for it. The battle between John and Rossi was fantastic, Rossi got the better of him but only just, great stuff. Pedrosa still isn't tough enough in my opinion though he got a great result, I think he should have had a better crack at the win, Rossi is still too good for him. Barros' third shows how good the d'Antin Ducati can be, Toseland should keep an eye on this team. Cracking ride from Elias to get past Loris for 6th. Kawasaki are screwed, dePuniet and Jaque are a waste of time.

Kawasaki of OJ went backwards, DePuniet did what he did best..crash.

Great rides from Rossi, Dani and Stoner at the front.

Got excited when Capirossi hit the front briefly, but what a let down, he must surely retire soon.

Barros was the star of the race no doubt, again a solid ride from Hopper and Elias seems to be back on it.

Well, I was also sitting on the edge for most of the race cheering Rossi but the big fight with swaping positions as we saw last year wasn't there, except fro the first few laps, but then nither was the riders. Not many can come up with a fight like the one we saw last year at mugello, and I don't think Pedrosa are one of those. The best races I've seen I fall off the tip of the sofa on the last lap, yesterday I was leaning more and more backwards relaxing, knowing that the result was more or less decided.

we'll see as far as i know he said he won't retire until he gets back to the winning ways.
