Introduction
Car and bike races have been held on closed public roads in the area around the town of Chemnitz, Germany since the 1920s and were still taking place until as recently as 1990. It was decided, however, that the five mile course through such a densely populated area was no longer suitable and a new circuit was built five miles west of Chemnitz in 1996. Although mainly used as a driver training centre and road transport safety station, Sachsenring first hosted MotoGP in 1998 and many improvements have taken place since then, including a drastic layout enhancement in 2001. Numerous tight corners make it one of the slower tracks on the calendar but there is never any shortage of close racing action.

guessing this is gonna be the best chance for a Open bike to get a podium this year (well Aleix anyway) the old 500's nearly beat out the 990's all those years ago.

1. MM
2. JL
3. AE
4. VR
5. DP

Another thought... If the 93 leaves here with 82+ point lead he can finish 3rd in every race for rest of season and still take title.

Wowzers. That would be quite the feat. What a great year it's been.. I'm a marquez fan but I'd be just as happy seeing someone else take a win at this point.. And if anyone has the edge here, its pedrosa. Don't remember the last time Rossi did well here.. But at least he seems hungry.

1. Pedrosa / Marquez
3. Rossi.. Hopefully close

Marquez had a wicked high side in FP1. Strained neck, probably wont be 100% for race.

So you think a bump on Marquez's head is going to jump Dovi 4 spots, or are you banking on rain:p.

Interesting sessions today...

MM's crash was not pretty....it will affect him over race distance but not during qualifying....

Redding is number 1 Proddy Honda, well done Scott!

Yes indeed congrats to Scott for doing well in a practice session. Although, if he was the real deal wouldn't he be walking all over the, according to Migs, useless, washed-up, ancient, injured, never-deserved-a-championship, 'murrican poddy Honda rider during actual RACES, like MM (the real deal) and even A. Espargaro, has done to his team-mate?
