MotoGP 2013: Le Mans

Reminds me to say what I was thinking when I hastily posted about his grid position; ie. His last two employers are

short-sighted fools for letting him go. Being half Italian - I love the fact that an Italian rider might be the key to bringing

the Ducati to the fore. Hell... if Dovi does well this year, I might have to consider buying my first (used) Ducati.

You miser. :)

Anyway don't buy older than three years; they have improved quality a lot since 2009-10.

Rossi took the Repsol Honda to 20 wins and two world titles in Motogp in 2 years, something that Dovi failed to do (if my memory is right) in two years, Dovi did win 1 race I think......whats your point? :)   ;)

More importantly, whats up with Nicky on the Duck? He at least managed to qualify well sometimes last year. All Dovi has to do now is win the race to better Rossi's Ducati Le Mans performance in 2012......if it rains he may have a shot, I would actually love to see him do it (or someone else) just to upset the Spanish party of 2013

Marc is exposing large chinks in Jorge's armour and approach, its amazing how quickly the tables have turned on Jorge, now already knowing what it feels like to have a much younger and faster rider on a great bike-which is perfectly suited to that particular rider- come in and steal the show.......

My point is simply that currently Dovi might be a better rider than aging Rossi. Nothing to do with the past, this is the present.

This said probably tomorrow Rossi will arrive ahead of Dovi, but if Ducati can improve a little you'll see Dovi battling Crutch and Rossi at every race.

If Ducati can improve a 'little'?? I'm on your side mate, but last round Dovi was pretty much beaten by a CRT. Barring rain, crashes or injuries (in cals case, the latter!!) Dovi will need a miracle to be near the factory Hondas and Yamahas over race distance all season.

Nicky also put the Ducati on the front row in Quali last season.....and from all reports the bike was worse last season than now.

Ha! Don't buy newer than 30 years, none of us mortals have the skills to exploit these machines anyway.

Feeling very sorry for Dovi right now, he wrestled that pig into third now (because there is only one) he will try and have to make what he can of full race distance, with guys working half as hard overtaking him. If he makes top 5 on that pig they should give him Rossi's spot at Yamaha.

At least for those other guys they painted the mobile chicane red...

Lorenzo - out sooked all of the prior sookiness ever in sookland on Thursday. Man, how precious is he? My bendy bus theory still applies.

Marquez is on pole which is good, he should lead the race from the first corner and give everyone what they are used to because someone will chuck a big tanty if he actually overtakes in motogp.

Actual translation Spanish - English from the Jorge Tanty,

Jorge "...and see bike, it just overtake, I no understand , I am THE Spanish rider and zee rules signore????"

Capirossi "It used to be easy, weee blame the Australia, the Americano and the Irish hombre".

Jorge " So blame them, I wasn't to singy jauntily our beautiful anthem like Carmelo promise".

Capirossi "Ah, but signore you are now just A Spanish guy and Carmello, he lika da squeaky little falsetto of Marquez, he sing Anthem much nicer, ehhh?"

( followed by screaming, crying and and bin getting kicked, followed by an exclamation of pain, then what sounded like someone whooping it good on a soft toy". )

Half a second ahead on the dry, half a second ahead on the wet. At his fourth race, young Marc makes the so-called aliens look ordinary.

And pushing it a bit too much I think. The kid was pretty badly out of shape coming onto the straight more than once.

My friend, I am someone who definitely roots for Ducati. So I'm biased, and always hope for the best for them. :)

Dovi is a great rider. He will never be a Rossi, even if he rides for another 20 years, but at the moment he could give this Valentino a good run for his money, on a sorted bike. Time never stops and now Rossi is a  step down from his previous (pre-2010) levels; and Dovi is reaching his peak.

Oh, my fault, I stopped watching before the end... he was leading for most of the practice time...  ;)

Whatever, he's not bad on the wet, uh? His first weekend on a MotoGP in those conditions.

On open roads surely nobody can, and for urban use nothing is better than my T-Max.

But take your sports bike to a proper track some Sunday... There the difference between a 30 and a 3 years old bike can at least be fully appreciated. :)

No Spanish riders on the Moto2 podium!

Great Redding, I'm happy for him. A rider who needs a bigger bike to shine as he should.
