MotoGP 2013: Le Mans

Thanks for all the messages guys, I think it just hit a bit close to home for me cause I had a big crash that I got away with a couple of years ago (tree, signpost, broken ribs, collapsed lung, etc, you guys know the deal). Anyway, we had a good day out but are thinking about getting DRZ400's and doing some offroad stuff for a change.

From today

There isn't much to say about the race. After Lorenzo's little tantrum in the riders briefing I hope Dani, Marc and Vale wipe the floor with him. He is going to crack under the pressure if he doesn't cheer up. Marky Marc doesn't give a .... about the threat of penalty points or your lame finger waving routine so quit whining and race him.

#93 for the win.

Farquez half a second faster than the rest in FP3... anyone see what went on in that session?

Steffi Bradl looking consistently quick in free practice - Cliché should be pleased.

Cal Crutchlow looks to be struggling a bit

Update: unfortunately for Bradl everyone went quicker toward the end of the session :wallbash:

Cal must be struggling Bradley Smith is less than 0.2 seconds behind

Dovi qualifies in 3rd. Rossi on the third row of the grid.

OMG! Dovi

What a lap! Although you bumped Cal off the front row :glare:

Are you watching Rossi?

You know you're doing badly when you are only one place ahead of Bradley

Exactly........

Looks like it could be close, but so did Jerez.....there's no season sum up yet what's going on? We've had a practice session or two?

Rossi, Jorge and Dani all reeling off consistent 1.34.5s. Marc improving.

Definately should give Cal the factory Yamaha, he's so full of praise for the triple tuning fork.

Forcada and co are once again 'Outstanding', Burgess and co must be just getting lucky.....

If 8th is lucky...yes.

Farquez. Phenomenal.

What a .... track. Horrid.

Haven't watched q yet.. Looks like it may be worth finding.. Marq continues to impress, But yeah looks like dovi understands how to go fast.. Shame it can't be done over race because of fuel/tire restrictions.. Was there a fuel limit in 05 06?

Regarding all the satellite talk.. Really hard not to believe that if a superstar either came along or was in our midst they would stand out on a sat like Casey in 06.. Sic/spies/dovi did.. Cal does.. Obviously they're willing to give these guys time but bradl ain't the next Agostini yo.

And the ducati.. You got the data for a good lap again.. Fudge the fuel numbers til it works!

Btw not to bag on bradl he was great versus marq in m2 and he's been great adapting to motogp.. But There're some riders made for 600 and smaller bikes.. I'm thinking sofouglu.. He was/is badass on 600.. Marquez would have a tough time against him on equal machinery and both riders happy with setup.. Maybe even beat Marq to title.. Remember sof in wsbk liters? Yeesh.. They both move up to motogp.. Marquez still shines.. The other fighting with final prototypes if not crts

Dovi took the Ducati to the first row at his fourth race on it, something Rossi didn't manage to do (if my memory is right) in two years. Kudos to him.

Reminds me to say what I was thinking when I hastily posted about his grid position; ie. His last two employers are

short-sighted fools for letting him go. Being half Italian - I love the fact that an Italian rider might be the key to bringing

the Ducati to the fore. Hell... if Dovi does well this year, I might have to consider buying my first (used) Ducati.

Hats off to Dovi. Every year he impresses more. And Smith is coming right along as well. Right where he should be at this point.

Rossi took the Repsol Honda to 20 wins and two world titles in Motogp in 2 years, something that Dovi failed to do (if my memory is right) in two years, Dovi did win 1 race I think......whats your point? :)  ;)

More importantly, whats up with Nicky on the Duck? He at least managed to qualify well sometimes last year. All Dovi has to do now is win the race to better Rossi's Ducati Le Mans performance in 2012......if it rains he may have a shot, I would actually love to see him do it (or someone else) just to upset the Spanish party of 2013

Marc is exposing large chinks in Jorge's armour and approach, its amazing how quickly the tables have turned on Jorge, now already knowing what it feels like to have a much younger and faster rider on a great bike-which is perfectly suited to that particular rider- come in and steal the show.......
