I.d like to see Scott Redding & Bradley Smith in that mix too. Especialy Scott he just got better & better towards end of last season.

Britain's Scott Redding shared the fastest Moto2 lap at Valencia today with reigning 125GP champion Marc Marquez, the pair smashing Toni Elias's pole position time from last year by more than half a second.

Redding and Marquez both unofficially lapped in 1'35.6s while Elias' pole from 2010 was 1'36.1. Yesterday's fastest man Julian Simon was third on the sheet with a 1'35.9 while Yuki Takahashi was fourth and Thomas Luthi fifth, sharing a 1'36 lap.

Marquez is simply astonishing. Never ridden a four stroke, only ridden a bike with a third of the power and half the weight. Yet, he's straight on top.

He will be a star when he graduates to MotoGP.

That Marquez is a bit special though, gonna be an interesting watch the 1st race to see if he has the strength to go race distance at full chat.

I think it is pretty safe to say that if Pedrosa doesn't win a title by the time Marquez gets to the big boy's class, Repsol will dump Pedrosa and put their clout behind Marquez.

Another good livery, his livery last year in 125cc was class, as was his riding. I think Spain will have another MotoGP champion in a couple of years...

Agreed! I think Dany Kent will run a similar livery this year which is cool... although i expect to see less of it on the podium

Scott Redding is a future MotoGP star for sure. I'm just glad he decided to bounce back after that tragic incident involving Tomizawa. The kids only 18 !! I mean.... 18 !! And already show loads of talent. He can only get better with time and experience. Watch out for this kid.

Completely agree mate he'sgot to be one of our best hopes in a long time.

'll be rooting for Scotty again this year. All the Brits should be getting behind him

Even tho' he's shot up in height a lot recently and that's probably not gonna' help him he sure is in with a really good chance this year.

Come on Scotty !!!! All the best for the coming season dude !

Testing at Jerez at the moment. Bradley Smith has started to show some impressive pace, very encouraging considering his adaptation has been pretty steady so far. Good work Brad

Im surprised no more was made of the times at the test. The Moto2 machine of Bradl was officially faster than the 250 track record.

Yes i saw that, with official engines too. Apparently Dunlop have brought a new soft tyre, it wont last race distance but its fast.

When you say wont last the race distance, are we talking 2 lap qualifier tire, or just a super soft race compound that will give up 2/3's the way through the race

Not sure, i'm just repearing what i saw on twitter or something. I would be surprised if it was a 2 or 3 lap tyre though.

Those idiots at DORNA want to kill somebody. "Warm up" for 125 and Moto2 at Losail will be on the Saturday night. Are they serious? Moto2 will be carnage.
