New Moriwaki and Suter fairings look great. Moto2 is coming along nicely, I just hope the quality is maintained when they ditch the spec engine, and everyone is forced to redesign their bikes.

Speculation? Or have you heard something?

i read somewhere ( i can't remeber where) that after the 125s go to 250 4s, moto3, which will be open to all engine manufactuers that moto2 will do likewise.

I think Moto 2 is contracted to the Honda engine for another year or two.at least on e year anyhow Brother Frost.

Sad to see Roger score such a mediocre result; however, I'm overjoyed that Ray Blank has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on this outing only to score a 17th. Over the last 2 years, I've come to believe that the man is the biggest Don Quixote in North America. I'm ecstatic that he got his ... handed to him by DiSalvo after American Honda rented IMS for two days and refused to share the track with any other American wild card riders. Perhaps, it was the correct business move, but it was a highly unpopular decision that was bad for Honda's image. It pains me to no end to hear Julian Ryder praise American Honda simply b/c he is in the SBK-Planet/Dean-Adams camp. Blank has attempted to kill the AMA (arguably the most prestigious national series on earth) b/c he has an ongoing personal rivalry with his nemesis Roger Edmondson. To hear Julian say that the man runs a racing company and that's why he pulled out of AMA is ill-informed. His company has plummeting sales and the man holds a grudge about everything even when the courts find that he screwed people out of money.

He is another minion from the evil empire. Honda is the company that will write any rule to help them win no matter how asinine or detrimental the rule may be for the sport as a whole. Julian would do well to stop singing their praises. The company is not the same as it was during the 1960s. It's not even the same as it was when they built museum pieces like the RC45. The company belongs to the shareholders and the political power brokers, imo.

According to Matt Oxley - Honda says that if a team believes their engine is underperforming compared to others

they have to pay a 20,000 Euro fee to have the engine checked out by Geo Technology. If the engine is up to

spec - the team loses the entire fee. If the engine is not they get a new one.

Elias is head and shoulders above the rest of the field this year, as he should be. The next few years of moto2 will be facinating when things get a bit more sorted out

More manufacturers will make it a true championship, not that I`m saying this one is under par.

I don't think manufacturers is the problem at the moment. With the series being as new as it is, the results are fairly random and their is no real established order. It just takes time before the series will begin to unfold like a normal world championship rather than something of a much lower level.

Agreed.

I think we'd all prefer that.

Those two classes are really coming to the fore, maybe its a way to keep the toes in the water if you can`t run a MotoGP budget effeciently.Of course I`m talking about the likes of Suzuki and Kawasaki there.Be nice to see them in there.

Iannone owned today.

Nice to see a runaway victory when you know the rider out front is just better than everyone else on that given day. Kinda like the 500s during the 1980s and early 1990s (after that it was best rider on the best bike).

Also nice to see battles all over the track not just a few clusters of riders within a second of one another.

Valentino Rossi to set up Moto2 team in 2011

By Matthew Birt -

22 September 2010 12:44

Valentino Rossi has launched a bid to become a team owner in the 2011 Moto2 world championship.

MCN understands Rossi will help fund the project with lifelong friend Uccio Salucci installed as boss of the Italian legend’s new Grand Prix venture.

MCN sources claimed Rossi was in negotiations with Eskil Suter at the Motorland Aragon race last weekend about a chassis deal as the reigning world MotoGP champion looks to finalise his plans.

Any new team wishing to enter Moto2 must have submitted an official application to the International Race Teams Association by September 28.

One rider will be Italian Andrea Iannone, who won Sunday’s Moto2 race for his third win of the campaign.

It is the second big career change for Rossi in the space of two months after he completed a shock move from Yamaha to Ducati in a two-year deal announced at Brno in mid-August.

A prominent source told MCN: “It looks like one very high profile MotoGP rider will have his own Moto2 team next season. Iannone will be one rider. He has interest from just about every team, but it looks like he will end up with Valentino.”

Provisional acceptance for the 2011 Moto2 series will be made on October 8 at the Sepang Grand Prix in Malaysia.

Those teams granted an entry will then need to a pay 20,000 Euro security deposit per rider by October 29 in Estoril.

The idea is then to unveil a list of accepted entries during the final round of the season in Valencia in early November.

Rossi as owner seems a natural progression, no? Also gives Uccio something to do on race weekend other than sitting in the trailer wacking-off...
