Everybody (me included) will say he moved because he couldn't deal with the pressure of being on the same team with the guy who continually beats him. If he goes to Honda - he will be able to blame his defeats on the bike, the team etc. He'd be a dope; cutting off his nose to spite his face.

But if he beats Rossi, he will be a genius! Perhaps that's the risk he's willing to take, because there would be plenty of glory in that. (That is until the mindless start to say how superior the Honda is

Come to think of it, Babel has already started that campaign. Yeah, it appears Honda is back on par with Yamaha seeing that Dovi won. (Don't roll your eyes at me, that's Babel's logic).

I wouldnt be to quick to discount the Honda. It is comong along quite nicely and is a better package than the Ducati at the moment, and by seasons end will be on par with the Yamaha. In the last 3 races Honda has won 2 and finished 3rd.If Honda offers him 3 million and Yamaha offers 2,you have to go to Honda. The only person who never got tired of being Rossi's foot stool was Colin and Jorge wants to be the man. Its going to be interesting to see who Honda is actually thinking about .... canning. Is it Pedro or Dovi.

I think it would be Dovi as much as i dislike Pedrosa

Crazy George will become ....... George if he leaves for Honda right now...

He's in place to become the inheritor of a bike developed by GOD and BUDA..

Got that right Curve...If he wants to be a No.1 so badly, he should be thinking about being THE No.1...Title winner...not the team No.1

Best place for him to win a title at the mo is on the Yam

Let Lorenzo go to Honda if he wants the money more than the glory, t'would be a foolish move but he's young enough to recover from it.

And just for fun...
Put Pedrosa with Rossi and put Hayden on the 2nd Honda, he needs a bike he can ride.
Dovi can go to Ducati ~ he's nuts enough to take on the challenge.

Sorted!

I don't think Lorenzo is just looking for the money. He is in a strange position. He is the #2 rider in the championship, sharing the factory with the #1 rider. As long as Rossi is around he will remain #2. So in theory, and I'm sure it's been going thru Lorenzo's mind as well, he should never win a championship as long as Rossi stays.

Rossi will most likely win this year, this will give Rossi hope to go for the final Agostini records that he hasn't beat. Rossi will want to stay at least two more years and see if he can beat Ago, thus establishing himself as the true GOAT.

All of this has to be going thru Lorenzo's mind, Lorenzo is a former champion, his goal is MotoGP champion, not #2 rider to Rossi. He knows that Yamaha are amazing, but also knows about Honda's potential and commitment to the sport. He may be thinking, ok fine, I will stay with Yamaha, but only if they pay me more (especially after finding out how much Rossi makes). Honda of course see's his potential, he is the one rider that can go toe to toe with Rossi and win, something Pedrosa seems to fail at time and time again. Lorenzo is their hope, and they are willing to dangle out there some really nice bonuses to get him (ie - more money, his own team, etc etc).

Yamaha seems unwilling to cough up more money, the end result is going to be, Lorenzo will move to Honda.

As I understand it Bautista has turned down Suzuki flat. No chance he is going there now that Aspar has a Ducati.

Yamaha is out for him as well. Herve allegedly wants DePuniet and Spies. So I guess we'll see Bautista on a Mapfre Bancaj Aspar Ducati =).

I'M REALLY HOPING MOTO1 GETS PASSED WITH A NO DISPLACEMENT LIMIT ON PRODUCTION ENGINES.

I do understand the position Lorenzo is in and can see his frustration but do you not think that Lorenzo will learn much more staying at Yamaha with Rossi? Yes he is going to get beaten, but he still will do if he changes. Rossi has so upped his game now to go for Agostini's records and because he knows how much of a threat Jorge is, but if Jorge stayed he would continue to learn from the best ~ not just Rossi but the Yamaha team also. There's a 'karate kid' thing going on there.

It would be sad if Jorge did go to Honda and like a previous poster said (apologies for not going back through the thread for names but it is late) blame the bike if he loses. Now he 'shaken hands' with Rossi he would have to start all over again with Pedrosa.

Yamaha are right to not be held to pay more for Jorge, they have the best in Rossi and anybody else in their right mind would fight tooth and nail for Jorge's position.

agree 100% plus repsol will be willing to pay hrc a few more £$ to get someone with potentual on the team. Lorenzo wants #1 rider respect more than money i think.

Heard about it. It will hinge on the definition of a "production based" engine. If they start mentioning homologation, it's a wrap. However, if the overall MotoGP category capacity is raised to 1000cc or is unlimited pending GP approval, that'd be a different story.

Hiroshi Aoyama will get the HRC ride !!

Japan's next rising star is destined to be on the HRC... he will first ride the horrible Scot Honda first though.

Fortunately, Infront Motor Sports may not need to defend its rights.

The MotoGP manufacturers have responded to the controversial 'Moto1' proposal with ideas of their own, including the possibility of offering their 800cc engines (at affordable prices) for use by private teams within a prototype chassis - a setup previously used by Team Roberts.

Do you not think Pedrosa has potential then? Have they given up on him already?
And if it does occur, will Honda put Lorenzo over Pedrosa?
Those two hate each other already and it would only put lemon juice on a paper cut if Honda bought in Jorge over Dani.
Basically it comes down to who sells the most bikes ~ who's more popular, who's going to get the fans screaming. Who do you think that would be between Dani and Jorge?
