I want Jorge to beat Rossi for the championship first on the same machinery before switching over to a new team.

No matter how well Lorenzo does, he'll never be top dog at Yamaha while Rossi is there. Thats a given. For someone like Lorenzo, that must really bite. If he goes to Honda, maybe to replace Pedrosa?, he'll be their No1. maybe 2 or 3 years down the line when Rossi retires, he's always got the option to go back to Yamaha. Personally I think he's be daft to move. The Yamaha is on top form and Honda seem like a pain in the arse to work for. But what do I know.

If Honda wasn't so uptight and hitleresque in the way the do things Rossi might still be there. He didn't like their philosophy at all and wanted a team that understood why he was there. It is to have fun and win races. Honda just liked the win races part but could give a .... who it was. Repsol doesn't care about the fun part they just want a Spanish champ period.

Since things have changed, here are my new predictions:

Dovizioso: Fiat Yamaha
Lorenzo: Repsol Honda
Bautista: Aspar/Rizla Suzuki
Barbara or Elias: Telefonica/Pepe Ducati
Talmasci: Balotring/Scot/Mol Honda
Melandri: Gresini Honda
Pedrosa: Repsol Honda
Spies or Toseland: Tec 3 Yamaha

Ayoma: Nippon Honda, MotoGP
<

Takahashi: Nippon Honda (Moto2)

Interesting that you think Dovi will get the best available ride in the paddock if Jorge leaves.
As things stand right now I'd be surprised if he can even hold onto the Repsol ride.
Replacing Nicky with him seems like a lateral move so far. We'll have to see how the 2nd half pans out but right now I don't think HRC considers it to be a great move on their part. Not a bad one but also not a great one

Clark your my boy! But Dovi on the factory Yamaha is just plain crazy! if Jorge is stupid enough to leave. That ride will be the most sought after by all the available riders in the paddock. Dovi hasnt even secured his Repsol ride the way he has been riding this year! But If we are all talking with High Hopes Id Love to see Nicky Jump on that M1

Other than Melandri, the people eligible for Fiat Yamaha #2 are not better than Dovi.

apperantly you are not the only one who thinks Dovi can end up on that 2nd Yamaha! so maybe im wrong. but i still think he doesnt deserve that ride

New speculation
Scott Honda: Aoyoma and Talmasci, Yuki to Moto2
Fiat Yamaha: Rossi and Edwards/Dovi/Melandri
Aspar Ducati: Bautista/Elias
Tec 3 Yamaha: DePuniet and Toesland/Spies
Suzuki: Capirossi, Barbera/Bautista
LCR (possibly in Moto2): DiMeglio
Pramac Ducati: Kallio, DeAngelis
Telefonica/Movistar Yamaha: Lorenzo
Repsol Honda: Pedrosa, Dovi/Melandri

Did anyone see the build up on BBC before the Donny race?
They had a interview with Lorenzo and he spoke about the whole honda/yamaha thing. This is the link just spead it up to 6.40ish: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006znvd

I think he is really considering moving to honda and not just trying to get as much money out of yamaha as he can. I do think he really dislikes the fact that he is number 2 rider and out of a choice between him and Rossi they would choose Rossi (like most people). He would be honda's future for now and not yamaha's future for after Rossi. I think he will make the move. Whether it is right or not is a different matter.

It does sound like he is seriously thinking about it. Moving doesn't seem to make sense to me ( apart from the financial implications ).

This is very interesting. You think Lorenzo would sign on to something that didn't say factory on it? (Yeah, I know it would be a factory spec, but then again, so has Elias's bike (suposedly).

Melandri seems to be the hot ticket, amazing.

Edward and Loris, really? First of all, the way Suzuki is running, I wonder if they will exist next year. Second, that other Yamaha seat is the most valuable of all, I doubt they would give it to Edwards.

If he moves to Honda he's a schmuck. Everybody (me included) will say he moved because he couldn't deal with the pressure of being on the same team with the guy who continually beats him. If he goes to Honda - he will be able to blame his defeats on the bike, the team etc. He'd be a dope; cutting off his nose to spite his face.
