There was a chippy at my work who fell of a ladder once - about all of three feet. He put a claim in against the company, but for the next nine months - until the cheque arrived had to limp around at on a daily basis
. Thing is, he kept forgetting which ankle he'd supposedly injured, so the limp would change from left to right on a daily basis. Point being...
Dani wasn't limping like the cripple he purported to be earlier on in this morning's warm up when he just chased Mike Leitner on the block with the champers!!! In fact, he couldn't supress his jubilation, so much so, he sprinted like Carl Lewis after his crew chief. So let's be right, he's just won, he forgot to put on the act - or didn't need to. The guy's almost fully fit - like Jules was saying, he just hasn't been able to train, but he's fully recovered otherwise.
Jorge - no ........, no pretense, no hamming up..refreshing to see. We don't need this sport being reduced to or inhabited by 'La Liga' 'Serie A style' drama queens. Jorge reminds me of the true golden age riders, the hard fuckers like Doohan, Schwantz, Rainey, and Gardner, who wouldn't sandbag or feign injury - they refused to allow any weakness to show - grit their teeth, and had no apparent ..... in the armour - they simply couldn't afford to. Casey's rubbing the wrist again..and I've made a mental note on which arm is allegedly pumped! (And to think, several posts ago, I was exhorting y'all to go easy on the guy
)
I can't believe the way that Jorge has gone from impetuous spoilt brat, to a mature and calculating, measured motorcycle racer in so short a time. Several years ago, a similar move at to the one he tried today at turn 11 would have taken out both riders. Anyone remember his frustrated hot headed desperate lunge on Pedrosa at Sachsenring some years ago which saw Dani's exhaust dangling for the rest of the race, and Jorge tumble into the gravel trap. Or Shuhei Ayoyama skittling him on the first turn at Istanbul, and he punched out his advertising hording in the garage, and locked himself in the team truck for three hours!! - The hissy fits are history...Jorge has come of age. Like I say, I attribute this to the fact he ditched Amatirain..even the subsequent death threats fell on deaf ears. Jorge is the future of this sport.
