Getting married doesn't seem like such a good idea now, does it.... haha, I can see why Hopper didn't run so well, he's kicking himself for...

Qualifying 1st does not win races...and you don't extra credit for qualifying like you do in AMA...

I am still backing Lorenzo if its Sunny to the BMW today, and JT if it rains!

As much as I am a fan of the guy, he's not a wet weather guy. EDIT (SHUT YOUR MOUTH PHLEG!)

Seeing as it's wet.

CV
West
Stoner
Rossi
Edwards

Take your pick.

Suzuki has an unexpected major problem. According to CV it is edge grip. I hope they get it sorted fast.

Impressive time from Stoner, especially after only 5 laps. Presume that what ever they did at the very end of the last session in terms of set-up worked well.

Rossi did pretty good given that today is the first time he's run on B'stones in the wet - not a bad effort to be best of the rest after a few hours testing, even if a fair way off Stoner's pace.

Hayden must be pretty pleased too - best of the Honda's, not far from Rossi and no-one can blame the quali tyres.

What happened to Vermin - certainly didn't expect him to be beaten by Capirex after the morning session.

Guintoli faster than Melandri - that must smart.

Elias slower than Guareschi and Canepa - presume he had some kind of issue given that time.

.... only knows. My live timing says finalised at 1700 Jerez time, yet the session isn't officially due to finish until 1800. Maybe they've had loads more rain or something.

This time by Stoner is all the more meaningful as it was done with the track still very wet. No doubt he has more experience than Rossi with the Bridgestones rain, and is by far the best rider when it comes to exploiting the current generation of traction control systems - which can really make a decisive difference on a wet track. On a dry track, I am sure the two would have had a much closer fight.

Here are fresh comments by Rossi after the event:

“It was the first time I was using Bridgestones rain tyres, which require a completely different setup as compared to the Michelin. It's been ok considering I used a very hard race rain tyre. One could have tried a slick, but there were two or three corners which were still rather wet and running too many risks in this moment is not an healthy thing to do”.

Q: Stoner passed you with determination at a certain point. Do you see a message in that?

“No, I don't think so, Casey was going very fast, I was lagging three seconds behind. However, we are not discovering him now… I'm sorry to have lost the car, but he is very determined and knows very well his bike and tyres: it's going to be hard. We still have work to do… on the setup, on the electronics and the tyres. Anyway, I was very fast on a dry track. The Yamaha has improved a lot, as demonstrated by my team mates' performance”.

Man that was one boring session..........

My first live action since last season, Eurosport decide to show fricking skiing for 10 mins, and then they dont even show stoner getting his car......gimps.

Stoner kicked hide's right royally so, going of the dry times........it would have been alot closer if we had a dry track.

Tech3 bikes look .... too.
