Jerez 08 Test Results

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (yamaka46 @ Feb 16 2008, 02:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>For comparison, 2nd day test times from Jerez last November

1. Casey Stoner (Ducati) 1’40.221
2. Dani Pedrosa (Honda) 1’40.355
3. Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) 1’40.514
4. Colin Edwards (Yamaha) 1’40.790
5. Nicky Hayden (Honda) 1’40.923
6. Alex de Angelis (Honda) 1’41.111
7. Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha) 1’41,230

But surly most of these times are with q tires?
Today it looks like DePuniet are the only one on q's so far.

I reckoned that the top day 3 times from November in Jerez were more likely qualifiers, which is why I posted the day 2 times

You're right. Those are qualifiers.

Based on those, what can we expect tomorrow? 1.37?

BTW, De Punt It had a soft tyre rather than an out and out quali on - he managed 4 quick laps on it.

Doesn't look like any of the real players are trying too hard. What do they think this is, pre-season testing or something? Who wants to win a BMW anyway?

Has to be.

Nicky's been languishing around 5-7 all day, and I doubt he could miraculously go a good .75 faster on a whim.

I know Jerez is a Yamaha track, but they look like they are out to take names this season.

All Yamaha riders have turned good times and no one has started pushing yet.

Suzuki look awful early on, and it looks like Alice are going to be backmarkers this season.

he must be on a soft compound tire instead of a Q tire. i wonder if this is the new engine???

we've all seen the new engine.

it is 10kph slow down the main straight and it blows up when put under race stress.

the only fast laps Honda have managed are with the 08 chassis and an updated 07 engine.

i would be really surprised if they managed to perfect pneumatics between the last test and now.

well honda said they had "something special" for jerez...

hayden can set fast times and honda should put more effort in for him i hope this season they do, i think he got let down by michelin tyres last season and dani outruns him because he is 18 kg's lighter, i think hayden should drop a few kilos.

i think he's about as fit & as light as his frame will alow him. maybe some body recontruction or something...

LOL well hayden seems podgy and not as gaunt as most riders, pedrochio is so light cos his frame is made from dam wood so he would be lighter.

I don't think rossi and stoner want to give much away; presumably no qualifiers today, or for dani for that matter.

Quite right. The first of the real favorites on 8th, allthough that was good enough to stay at the top most of the day.

Rossi last of all the Yamahas
