hondas pneumatic will race at mugello

Nicky has been riding 800's for aproximately 18 months now, and still can't do it properley while the vast majority of the motogp riders were sorted in 2 or 3 months. He mentions how the bikes aren't powerful enough for him and and the electronicz are too intrusive, but thats the bikes he has to ride. He should buy a 250 and practice away from the races are something

I was thinking that too...I am sure he can afford an factory race Aprilia he can use on an off weekend trackday or private hire of a track.....and just learn and adapt to how he need to ride to do his JOB.

Perhaps Hayden should go to World Superbikes and ride a 1000cc. His style may be more suited to that championship and I think he'd win a championship for sure. He has had a great opportunity in MotoGP and won 3 races in his 6th season. Congrats on the 2006 championship but he only won 2 races that season and won a war of attrition. Its time for Repsol Honda to get a new rider to compete for the championship with Pedrosa.

wow... i was going to post this exact thing! especialy the getting a 250 & practising part. .... honda can line nick up with bike & track & he can just go & hammer out hundreds of laps during summer break.

OR...they could just go back to when the "Premier Class Bikes" meant, they are normal sized, beasts to ride, and about balls not corner speed

And keeping a high corner speed doesn't take balls?

This is why our own Scott Reading was so dynamic at Qatar...very unorthodox wide sweeping lines, late apexing, remniscant of Rossi's style in '97. Can't wait to see him ride at Brno.

Agreed, and these lines mainly come from riding machines with less power and keeping corner speed. Thats where the balls are.

I vast majority of GP riders are back markers.

This is the most preposterous thing I've ever read.

Who still doesn't have it you ask?

Edwards, Toseland, Capi, Verme, West, Nakano, DeAngelis (probably doesn't, he looks hopeless), Elias NEVER had it, Guintoli looks clueless, Hopper? (I can't tell he's never runs the same line twice), Melandri
<
, DePuniet (he in the gravel half the race so I can't tell).

4 of the 6 factory riders have it, and Dovi has it.

That makes 5
<

Hayden and Melandri are the 2 factory riders who haven't done much on the 800. Both of them should be doing better but they aren't the lone ....s on the grid. Even on their off days they are still preferable to everyone else behind them.

I think you might have to get used to seeing your hero riding with the back markers...at least until the super pnuematic engine save his season....

Oh yea, I forgot that going around corners at speed is not the best bit about of motorcycle riding and racing.
<
...Going fast in a straight line is cool!!
<

Maybe we should make it a rule that a big daytona style bank must be added to all Gp tracks...

cornering on a bike that has EXCESSIVE POWER is more exciting than cornering on a bike with JUST ENOUGH POWER......... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/.....gif

Yes more exciting generally means faster time and better results since GPs are a style race....I see your point now...style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/.....gif

Ah so the most exciting aspect of racing motorcycles to you are the lap times....

Racing Fun Formula

more power = more better

so why the hell did Dorna make these mincy 800s?
<

They didn't take the formula into consideration.
