The only two I have heard are against it are Bradley and Smut-hoe. So I don't see any reason to be against it.

As I already said in the other topic, this is how the racing will get ...... up for the long haul. Part of what makes GP far better than auto racing is precisely the lack of communication other than what you can put on a pit board. Puts a lot of responsibility on the rider to make decisions....allowing direct communications starts removing that. There was a marked decrease in the overall quality of F1 as direct communications became more and more prevalent since all technical data being streamed from the sensors during the races could then be not only evaluated in real time, but conveyed to the drivers in order to manage the race to a level that once was solely dependent on the drivers.

Big picture Dub...you're losing sight of it.

I read it in the other thread. Its a really good take. I do agree. Purity of the racing is one of the things I love about bike racing. I was just making light of it.

Marquez with pole.

Will be interesting to see what the weather is tomorrow.

In mixed conditions Lorenzo outqualified both Yamaha's.

Guess he can't do anything in the wet.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Marc giving Mav some plastic and then the cold shoulder was great.

Is he in Maverick's head now?

Where's the resident psychologist who seems to know who is in who's head?

Mav is rattled and has shown in the past to be a hothead and I also think Marc is better at head games than most think.

Do you think that the people writing for MotoGP view everyone as a contender and that is why they just wrote the following?

Or do you think that they see Vinales as a legitimate contender for the title and that is why they call him, and not everyone in the field, a contender. Or are they just too dumb to understand English and must bow to the superior skills of the MotoGP Forum Webster/Oxford gods?

You need to back up and read what's written. You are arguing against Dubster when in fact he agrees with you.

I agree with you on Marc being better than most think.

I don't know if you noticed before P4 started, they were showing Marc sitting there in the garage. He was the absolute epitome of confidence sitting in there. No one else on the grid looks that way, everyone appears to be slightly distracted in some way...Marc looked insanely calm.

The way he handled the Rossi situation 2 years ago should have been a wake up call to most people in terms of how incredible his mental strength is. He took Rossi right out of the title fight by racing him hard when most others would have given Rossi a wide berth after the pre-race presser at Sepang. While I am not expecting MM to repeat on the title this year at this point, I would also say that if he does in fact repeat, it won't come as any surprise to me. If anyone can turn sour lemons into lemonade, he is the guy.

....... with Vinales is a good way to throw him off further...I can Mav crashing out again tomorrow since the pressure is increasing on him and like you said he is a hothead.

Pretty weird result for Lorenzo. You kind of knew this was going to be an unpredictable quali given 1. Changing rain 2. A slew of tires to choose from. and 3. Untried new surface.

I can't imagine what else would explain Dovi doing so poorly.

Petrucci continues to be a revelation this year. Remember when he was just the generic back of the pack test hack filling in for injured riders?

Will Rossi demand the 2016 chassis?

Was Rossi back on the 2017 chassis this weekend? I haven't had much time to peruse the news sites at all and was under the impression he was sticking with the '16 chassis for good after Assen.

Petrucci seems like a good candidate for a satellite victory this year assuming we get one.

I would think that riding in wet conditions might actually help Lorenzo better come to terms with the way the Ducati needs to be ridden as long as he doesn't lose his nerve when the bike gets loose. Riding in the dry on such a grippy surface would tempt him to ride more in the "on-rails" style that won't work with the Ducati.

If he's been on the '16 chassis these last races, I didn't know it.

Completely agree.

I see what you are trying to say but all I hear is you agreeing with Calbert Cumsquick
Nah, my opinion on the matter is irrespective of its impact on the racing. My issue is the mechanism being used and how easily people buy it as legit. What's fascinating is you totally get politics when it comes to civics, but they do worse in GP and you're like, well, they voted so it's all good democracy. Like the #70 tire, "democracy", right? You get the civics mechanism for Machiavellian gamesmanship, gerrymandering, lobbying, legislation writing, etc., but freeze out when it's used in the GP kingdom? And that's when Dorna uses the "vote" mechanism, because sometimes they skip that hallow exercise and outright ban ...., like they did with winglets, or change rules 11th hour like the Factory 2 and Rookie Rule, or change to friendly vendors like Michelin. Then we get distracted debating it's impact, like here you're suggesting ....'s opinion is relevant, while the story is: the influence that precipitated this new rider aid!
