Still value greatly your sadly only occasional input Jumkie, and am still adamant that personal information gained off forum should not be used against posters on the forum, and even more so that the families of posters are off limits.

While I (obviously) don't regret anything where you are concerned, having engaged in a major flame war which I didn't enjoy personally all that much in defense of the above principles a while back, I am a little peeved that MDub has imo now taken to doing pretty much what he complained of in others, judging the thematic content of the posts of others and the character of other posters, and apparently considering himself to have the status to be an arbiter of such matters; as I said I don't give a flying .... about his actual personal opinion of a certain rider I supported during that rider's career, particularly at the current remove in time from said career.

Seriously though if this is how others feel, I will go away. Thats not who I am, I would hate to be perceived this way.

Wow. I hadn't even been reading this thread cos I don't know enough about Stoner and I find pointless arguments about the best of all time a bit dull.

Do you guys actually know each other? Why get all ...... and personal to people you don't know who are just all fans of the bike racing?

Maybe I don't emotionally invest enough into forums to understand. But hey, if you want to read the crap here, stay and read it. If you don't, don't. Applies to everyone and not directed at any one.

And it's just my opinion. Make of it what you will, it won't particularly affect me, I don't think. Hopefully I got most of the spelling and grammar right :)

So it's an actual thing. Well if nothing else, this site has been a bit of an education this week for me. From thunder, lightning (no e), spelling, grammar and now psychology. So cool - and here was me thinking there was nowt to do in the summer(y) holidays.

I got help from Wiki for this one and it said... "...he phenomenon has been portrayed by the British comedy group Monty Python in their satirical 1979 film Life of Brian" which is possibly my favourite film of all time. Is the bit in particular the whole "Splitters!" ".... off, we're the People's Front of Judea" or whatever it was?

Every day's a school day. And I still know very little about Stoner. Nor do I really want to anymore! But infighting, I know a little more about and it's perfectly normal.

Can I suggest his production credit for Lowell George and the Factory's 'Lightning Rod Man' ?
I actually to my surprise saw Bill Payne play last month, with the Doobie Brothers actually, at Red Rocks outside of Denver.

I still treasure having seen the Lowell George Little Feat as as a teenager, although Lowell obviously wasn't all that well at the time.

"Life of Brian" wasn't a satire. It was a documentary.

Why not stay?

You can probably have the forum all to yourself as matters currently stand.
