In the history of social media, has there ever been anyone that isn't having a fabulous life? #family#blessed
I don't know because I do little social media. I do know that they were traveling through the United States and vacationing in style with MotoGP friends. They are from Australia and it's race season, so I was impressed since Casey is a young man to be retired and doing this well, in my very jealous opinion.

The viewpoint of the fastest Honda guy vs. a fast Honda guy:
Other Honda riders like Jack Miller say that the bike this year is much easier to ride than the previous ones. Do you share this opinion?
MM:
Yes, this year we have gotten a bike that’s easier to ride, but this doesn’t mean that it’s a faster bike. It’s easier to ride up to a certain pace, but to lap at a record pace we haven’t gotten there.

Also noted, Marquez doesn't believe in tire conspiracies.

Or does he???

All we have is his denial.

I don't think they were talking about general tire choice like the #70 tire issue, though. He was just talking about the tires for each weekend, and judging by Vinales and others, it appears that Michelin is randomly giving terrible tires to anyone and everyone.

Yes, I think you're right.

And, as he says, I can't see how they would manage to cheat and give bad tires to a specific crew. That would require more deviousness than anyone really thinks likely, I think.

Marc is not stupid by a country mile. There's an upside to be had by saying what he did. He knows Rossi's time as a rider in this sport is limited and you have to play the long game since who knows how long Michelin will be supplying.

For sure though, as we are discussing advertising in another thread......

It will be a cold day in hell when I buy Michelin tires........for any of my vehicles....

For the time being......

Exactly right. Downhillers have even started using them on the courses with long flat pedal sections. The guy that won the first round of downhill had a shock made by a motogp team. His mechanic works for tech3. His shock had a lockout switch on the bars using a dropper button.

The riding positions in that video was brutal to watch. Not a single rear steer.

That thing is more hi tec than my cbr 600rr

Exactly. Marc is as frustrated as any rider with the wild fluctuations in the Michelin tires but knows he has to partner with them for probably the majority of his career. The entire interview shows his maturity beyond his years. Simply stated,he is not a whiner and that's what I like about him, not to mention his unworldly skills on a bike.

Pretty much my view. I am sure he is correct that Michelin don't supply the bad tires from a batch selectively to riders who displease them, but that is not the same as there not being poor quality control/unacceptable batch variation or the tires being adequate for their purpose in the first place.

This season has also certainly done nothing to convince me that Dorna are above manipulating tires in an attempt to tweak outcomes either. While I am happy for the other riders to have changed to a tire of their preference, I still can't see why Vinales is no longer riding the tire on which he started the season.

I don't know if there's any wrongdoing going on from Dorna or Michelin, but we shouldn't have to "trust" them in the first place, they're businesses, and certain aspects of business operations have to be regulated or dysfunctional situations occur when greed inevitably takes over.

In this case, it'd be sufficient to fix all tyre options for the season long before the start, so the new bikes can be developed and tested with them.

That's the way it is supposed to be done, but if certain riders decide the tire they agreed on pre season all of a sudden isn't working to their advantage, they demand a change. The ONLY reason to change the tire after preseason testing starts is if it's deemed faulty, not because one popular rider whines.

My beef is against self appointed moderation of the forum, particularly since it has become apparent to me that I almost certainly picked the wrong side when I engaged in an unpleasant flame war in relation to that issue a while back.

Please elaborate.

Please elaborate.

Still value greatly your sadly only occasional input Jumkie, and am still adamant that personal information gained off forum should not be used against posters on the forum, and even more so that the families of posters are off limits.

While I (obviously) don't regret anything where you are concerned, having engaged in a major flame war which I didn't enjoy personally all that much in defense of the above principles a while back, I am a little peeved that MDub has imo now taken to doing pretty much what he complained of in others, judging the thematic content of the posts of others and the character of other posters, and apparently considering himself to have the status to be an arbiter of such matters; as I said I don't give a flying .... about his actual personal opinion of a certain rider I supported during that rider's career, particularly at the current remove in time from said career.

did I offend you when I called you the stoner spam computer? How long are you going to make me guess how I hurt your poor little feelies? Are you just going to throw shots at me in every thread now? So the war is full back on then?
