The North!
Wow what a race!!

Fantastic last lap my heart was in my mouth.

Saying no more don't want to spoil for others

Just got back from a ride of my own. Got it recorded, so i'll watch it latter.

Should have played the lottery, got the first 3 numbers right!

Man.. Marquez played it cool through all that going on around him.. I'm impressed.. and what an effort by Espargaro.. well deserved

Luthi.. you're from switzerland damnit.. just like you're ancestors during WW2.. fight for something!, you can do it!
<

Exciting race! By the top 3 especially. They were 30 seconds faster than last years race, and a good number of the laps were close to the pole position time. I think the most of the races will play out like this.

LRRP- It was around the 5 laps left point, where Marquez an Espargaro both pass Luthi at the end of the straight. Very similar circumstance to last race. Luthi either learnt to not play chicken with these guys, or that breaking and following behind might work. It didn't this time, cause as Truent just said, Luthi is not a fighter. Quick when he's not bothered, but flustered in a second.

See I ain't that bad

Also got to give the rubbing of leathers when Pol went inside Marquez was a bit breathtaking I honestly didn't want either to go down and was happy neither did.

Marquez showed his true worth to MotoGP as a whole this weekend. Some amazing battles to start and a cool and calm head throughout.

He is a great in the making. Possibly! If he can do it like today?

Pedro had better be taking note, That's for sure.

EDIT. Just watched after race interviews and Luthi openly admits when Marquez and Pol went passed he had done so much pushing earlier that he knew he would not be able to push for the win. Good for him.

I was impressed with Espargaro's effort - he was pushing so hard I thought he was going to bin it (nearly did in that last lap too!).

Marquez was playing it cool sitting up down the straight and keeping it behind Luthi but then when he got tangled up with Espargaro and Zarco I thought he might have made a mistake letting Luthi keep the lead but he obviously knew that Luthi was not holding back so Marquez was comfortable keeping a little reserve up his sleeve.

Also a fourth place finish for Zarco - what a performance! Just goes to show how much better than Terol (back in 16th) he really was!

Zarco was impressive all weekend. I think he is surprising himself the most!!

Titan,he had a few good races last year in the 125, but at no time was he better than Terol. To be better than someone the package is needed. Zarco is fast, no deniying that but last year he showed the mental fortitude of a gold fish. Pretty bad when your team owner calls you an ........

I´m glad to see Mobil 1 in there too! About time there is another petrol company sponsoring a team. Now all that is needed is BP to throw money at some Brits. That way all you butt soar non Spaniards won´t have anything to ..... about when Repsol has an all Spanish team!!

I didn't say Zarco had better results than Terol - just that he was a better rider. It took Terol 7 years to get the 125cc championship win and Zarco was runner up after less than half that time AND Terol had by far the best package - talk about the big fish in the little pond!

Great race. Im rooting for Luthi in this class. Espargaro did well to challenge Mighty Darling Marquez. At least Pol can be proud he tried something, unlike Lorenzo this weekend. Marquez was cool to keep his cool. And why not, having easily the best package in the paddock must be confidence inspiring. I dont dislike the kid despite his murder attempts, but im also nit gonna pretend his seat isnt the best out there. Sitting up so as not to show his bike can motor past at will isnt fooling me. Having saud that, the bikes dont ride themselves. Si, congrats. The day he bumps Pedro off HRC i will be welcome him into the fold.

Jumkie- If Marquez has the best "package" he has put himself in that possition. If a good sponsor and a good manager have noticed him and taken him under their wing it´s because he is that good.

The mechanical and electronical parts of his bike are the same through out the class. And as mentioned he has the same bike as Lüthi. The only difference is his size, skill, determination and crew. Money does buy the best crew, and his sponsor has it.

All the Moto 2 riders sit up in the slip stream of the lead rider. Espargaro did it as well. Ianone on a good day looks like he has more Hp under the tank. Rewatch some of the first year races when he and Elias were battleing. There are races when Ianone, from the back of the field makes it to the lead. And many of the passing is on straights flying by without using a slipstream. If I´m not mistaken, his engine was checked over out of concern. Probably from Elias´s team...

Other than images and videos, do you have any factual evidence that Marquez has an unfair advantage over his competitors? If you do, let Dorna know as well.

Yeah - Pedrosa really needs to pull finger this season or he'll be hunting for a ride next season (maybe he'll take Spies'!). I wonder if Repsol will put Marquez straight on the factory bike or give him a rookie year on a satellite (maybe LCR).

Rookie Rule says that a rookie must spend his first year on a non-factory team. This to give satelite teams more noteriety with an up and comming new star.

Pedders belongs on a satellite too! They'd be perfect teammates!

Sure, but right now I don't see any of the GP riders better or even on par with Pedrosa. There could be a seat swap between Dani and Marquez when the time comes!

Bautista is the one watching his back then.

Because the Marquez missile is a coming!

Last lap may have been even better had Iannone not made a mistake...I was hoping he would be higher up in the order this year. I guess that frame switch has screwed him up a bit?

That rule must have been introduced a couple of seasons back cos Lorenzo went straight to the factory Yamaha team four seasons ago.

How can you tell if any others (other than Dovi) are on par or better? Who else has ridden a Repsol Honda for their entire career? I'm guessing Dovi could fill Pedders seat equally well, Rossi could certainly fill it, Cal, Ben, Randy would all be interesting options, but number one choice would be Nicky and Casey together again and Pedders and Marquez on the satellite Hondas.
