Fair enough too ... it's just that because you favour a personality type then you will read someones comments how you want to read them. I read the Casey post race transcript and for the life of me I can't see the whinge that has caused everyone to slate him so much on this forum.

If you ask me I'd say he is one of the most courteous and polite riders on the grid but also calls it the way he sees it ... but that's just the way I see it!

I am not so convinced that Rossi 'means' it on all occasions when he makes some of his post race comments but I am convinced that for him, he needs to race with someone for his own personal enjoyment. By this, I mean that he is not the type of rider who enjoys destroying a field in the way of a Doohan and now Stoner (as well as others) but instead he likes to 'play' with the opposition as he genuinely enjoys the battle.

As for the destroy the field method used by Doohan and others I actually do not find it boring but then I do enjoy watching any athlete at the top of their game.

Good race, nice to see Rossi win again but he did look knackered in the post race interview. Good to see Dani and Nicky up there, also good to see Stoner use his head and not chase the leaders when he knew he couldn't catch them. I'm sure he'll be crowned 2007 World Champ soon.

Funny that you pick on the term Poms which 90% of aussies use as a term of endearment with no genuine malice intended and you appear to at times let this cloud other posts whilst at the same time labelling 'lots of aussie forum members' whingers.

Personally I do not see the Whinger element in Stoner that you seem so engrossed with but the term whinger is a matter of free opinion is it not?

To me, complaining about safety issues does not make one a whinger nor does mentioning mechanical issues that affected your results (and mechanical includes Tyres). Nor do I see reports of Stoner making derogatory comments in the press that could be seen as harming the sport in any way or attempting to exert pressure on those making the rules.

But, I do not really see this in Rossi's comments either although those as reported in Australia have flown close on occasions. And note I have said 'as reported' as that is the crucial element with the media being able to 'tailor' one's thinking and opinion by judiciously editing an article.

And The Rolling Stones, and The Animals and Jethro Tull with the legend Mr. Ian Anderson!!! And Robin Trower, etc etc ...There are to many to mention!!!..But use get my drift!!! I’m a 60’s guy and that is where my music lays!!!

I wouldn't bet against it either purely because CS does not have to win a race from here home to win the title, but I also sure as .... bet that he wants to win them all.

Should make for some interesting racing over the remainder of the season and hopefully, it won't just be Rossi and Stoner as I expect the Hondas and Zooks to do well also.

Well as a relative newby here I have read this thread in full and man, some people really do have issues with certain riders don't they?

So Stoner has a mechanical issue and the armchair experts can tell he is bullshitting because the times don't drop to greatly. Obviously I know not of what I speak but I would say that Stoner is 100% correct and truthful and do not see this an an excuse for not winning and just because it was not as 'visual' as tyres do not mean it did not occur.

Then we have the fanboys saying that Stoner is a poor sport because he does not mention Rossi in the interview, oh please, get real. I have no doubt that Rossi did not go away and cry in his motorhome because Stoner or anyone else does not mention him, I doubt greatly he even notices.

As for the race, Stoner rode intelligently as upon realising that he had a problem and was not likely to catch Rossi/Pedrosa he decided to gain points as any racer in that situation should do. A championship is won by points accumulation not by race wins alone so well done to Stoner for that maturity.

Rossi and Pedrosa put on a good show and yes it is about time that these two got themselves back at the pointy end but I have to say that IMO the result was never in doubt as I am yet to be convinced that Pedro will beat Rossi head to head. To me, Rossi knows that he can beat Pedro but I am not convinced that Rossi feels the same about Stoner, nor for that matter about Capirossi (unfortunately we have not seen that this year).

People, these guys are professional riders with massive egos who are living the life that many of us would love to be able to do, why do we persist in trying to destroy that with unfounded accusations about their individual integrity?

For christ sakes, if we have to be so dame condescending to these champions, please have a good look at yourself first as the problem may not be with the rider.

And for what it is worth, I am not a Stoner fan, nor a Rossi fan but a fan of motorcycle racing and I enjoy valid debate and just find the he says/she says mentality is destroying many good forums.

hey paul rossi & pedrosa were on the same compound tires. front & rear were identicle front medium/rear hard. they did'nt show what nick was on.
