Ah the sarcasm, are you from Texas?
Pepik, let me educate you a bit. Texans are loud. They think everything is better and bigger in Texas (its actually a state moto, look it up). Notice the flag, you see more Texas flags there than you see US flags, no joke. Hell they still think they are their own country. Perhaps you, migs, neil, and the gang can see that the US is a big place, but some people stand out for different reasons. I myself am from California, totally different place with our own peculiar characteristics. Lots of good people from Texas, some are bad, very bad. Our prez is from Texas--enuf said. But don't get all bothered, just run with it. They got something to root for, a native son is doing well when you and a few sounded ready to pounce on the guys (maybe not you) about making excuses if he didn't deliver. Well, you gotta be a bit impressed. I know you like circumstances and all, so factor into your circumstances bit that in the US, wet is almost never a race factor, so Spies has zero to no experience, unlike Euro riders. Then factor in all the other circumstances: new bike, new track, new tires, new circus, etc and etc, then you begins to see why these guys are hooting and hollering as if he scored something for the Texas team (notice its about Texas, not so much the US). You get me? We (I mean all us Americans) got something to be happy about. Hayden seemingly doing ok (I'm not gonna hold my breath, race is a race, qual is qual), and Spies not last, that’s something to be happy about, at leat for the moment; you get the picture.
Cut some slack.
