Taken from Wiki.
The Monroe Doctrine is a U.S. doctrine which, on December 2, 1823, said that European powers were no longer to colonize or interfere with the affairs of the newly independent nations of the Americas. The United States planned to stay neutral in wars between European powers and their colonies.

Whats that got to do with anything?

The connotative suggestion of The Monroe Doctrine was that the entire New World (America) was under the protection of the United States. In other words, we didn't feel like trying to organize this mess of a hemisphere, but the whole thing was ours nonetheless.

It goes hand-in-hand with Manifest Destiny, the Panama Canal project, the Bay of Pigs, The War on Drugs, colonization of Hawaii, etc.

You got into it when you posted that condescending question about how Americans might make excuses for Spies, remember? (Just reminding you before you go lumping me in with these forceful Texans). This is an extension of that same discussion buddy. My point was, don’t knock the US simply because some enthusiastic Texans are rooting for their boy.

But you made a good choice not to want to get into this discussion about Texas. You never know with these Texan boys, they love to start wars over nothing.

Back on topic, I wonder why there haven't been any posters rationalizing with circumstance and happenstance to explain why Spies 8th place qual really was NOT impressive. ...., if you take out Vermi and Westy's wet weather qual status (god knows they would have been way down the order in the dry) maybe Spies would have been higher--oh wait, now I'm sounding like the rationalization squad...

It is the same thing in motorcycles but to make the bike rotate you have to get it on its side so it doesn't flop over towards the outside of the turn.
Thanks! So it isn't the same as lean or leanangle then?
Please excuse my headthickness...

You just called it the United States and also put America in brackets

But Jum, had Pedrosa and Lorenzo been healthy then it would have evened itself out. And wait what if Hopkins was healthy too and JT hadn't crashed theres 2 mores places. SO really he ended up in 12th. But wait it was raining so he had an advantage there tack off 3 more places. Wow he would have started at back. To sum it up, really not that impressive.

Dude, a few years ago, it was so ....... hot at Laguna, that the track started to melt, no lie, look it up. But last year was good weather. Take plenty of sun block, I don't know how they rate them in the UK, but get one that says SPF 500000000. And take a light windbraker, yeah, it can be hot, but the breeze can be chilli. You'll be ok bro, no worries.

Don't worry about it. Just call us whatever you like. It's all the same.

Just like the UK, Great Britain, and England, they're all the same too.

That didn't make any sense to me, at least not in our discussion. You have a very different view point of forces applied and that make it very hard for me to follow. You describe the bike turning: " that centripetal force at the front is on a different vector than centripetal force in the rear. "
Im too tired too even try to follow you. It doesn't mean you are wrong, just that you have a different reference point. Most people agree that by giving the front wheel a different direction than the bikes direction you force the bike to lean over and eventually turn, as the front wheel come back in "line". I use "line" as it now actually steers into the turn.

Pasty white Englishmen is going to have some fun with that. If anyone is going to melt this year, it will be Rog.

No. Lean angle is refered to as roll.

Well, according to himself it could sound like he would have expected a harder time in dry conditions, at least he's hoping for rain tomorrow. But then again, that's just the rider, why should he know anything about this.

I thought yaw was the slip angle against the direction of travel. Well it was when I was flying hang gliders.
So for bikes it would be sliding either end, specially noticeable with some of them coming into the corners, or what the name of this forum is.

Another reason for raising the cog is that it increases the pitch under brakes, which puts more weight on the front wheel, and also steepens the rake, reduces trail (maybe), therefore allowing sharper turn in.

I'm putting this down as the most off topic thread ever. There's about 10 different streams of thought (if that's what you call it)
<
going on, none of which have anything much to do with anything.

Can we still call all you Americans 'yanks'?
