It's TESTING...it means nothing for the actual season.

Booo! Hiss!

Ha ha I see some Valeboppers are already scared that Dani is going to kick Rossi's ....
<

Anyways what surprised me from those laptimes was Barros in the D'Antin Ducati going faster than Capirossi and Stoner. D'Antin must be really happy that he's finally got good bikes with fast riders and decent tyres!

Means plenty.

BEST----------ON 990(race time)------------BEST ON 800

Pedrosa--------1.41.27---------------------- --1.39.91

Rossi-----------1.42.10-------------------------1.40.10

Edwards-------1.42.54-------------------------1.41.24

Melandri-------1.41.79-------------------------1.40.50

Hopper--------1.41.59-------------------------1.41.05

What do you think?

Dani's lap was also done on qualifing tyres, and so might have Vale and Marco's.

Sete has always been plenty fast in testing, didn't help him much did it?

It means a lot, we can say now that Ilmor are completely screwed!, that Suzuki will be better than last year, that D'Antin Ducati will be better than last year.

I think I'm gonna support d'antin next year - only if they retain their black bike!

"The 21-year-old completed another full day's development work aboard his Repsol Honda RC212V on Thursday, before setting an impressive lap time of 1min 39.910secs with a qualifying tyre to end the test 0.213secs ahead of former world champion Valentino Rossi, who was fastest for the first two days."

Asimo is fast no dought about it, Q tyres or not, but can he step it up and actually fight...the "couple" times he did this season he cried that the other ryders were being to rough..

....!!! the winter test ban is here! almost 2 months of nothing!

All I gotta say is that Suzukis have always had good race practice pace, but when it comes down to qualifying, they usually end up in mid pack with a few exceptions. Then on race day, they spend most of the time fighting in mid pack... So, I think they should try the qualifiers as well, given that Yamaha had lots of problems with Qs this year.

You should make a T-shirt that says this and maybe you could sell it on ebay and make some money.

the times where very interesting. i thought the whole point of the reduction to 800cc was to reduce speed and improve safety yet they're going even faster - surely this can't just be down to corner speed ?

it also goes to show that all the early reports of the RC212V being a pit of a donkey (aye aye MCN) where well and truly wrong. Honda did everything they could to 'encourage' the rule change - they lined up a rider of perfect build and riding style for their new machine a year early so he could cut his teeth on the old bike - they were hardly going to do that if they thought the bike wasn't up to it.

i'd be willing to bet they've had that bike on ice for at least a year.

pedrosa 'the over-achiever' is going to be a major force nex year - i'll have a fiver on him taking the title.

hoy BEN - how about a 'virtual bookies' ? - i can link you to a site that has one if you think it's poss ?
