Jerez Free Practice and Qual

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (vale4607 @ Mar 24 2007, 07:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Rossi 18th? What a ..... session, you know you're in trouble when edwards is way ahead of you
And Tamada, and Guintoli!
<

In fact, he's basically last, with just a couple of test riders sparing him from that embarrassment...

(Sorry, Oliver, but it looks like your best days are behind you. Pray for rain. Pray hard. Very hard.)

I wonder what's up with Rossi? He said yesterday he was hoping for warmer weather for the morning practice... I'm guessing he didn't get it. Edwards also made the comment in Qatar that his bike/tyres like it hot. Is there something in that? Was it hot in Jerez during the preseason test?

Still, I think that in qualifying Rossi will pull out a fast one and end up somewhere in the top 6. Don't know how the race pace looks--at least at the moment...

Uh, actually 26 laps. His fastest lap was lap 8. Maybe he should've stopped then?

Some bits of qualifying were very boring but it all lightened up right near the end! I'm so impressed with Checa and Pedrobot for getting the pole, keep it up lads. Hayboy down in 11th!

Heh, there's only one Richo!

And apparently he looks like a kangaroo...

Now that is why I love motor racing. It was only qualifying, and there was more excitement than a whole game of rugby, football, cricket, golf or whatever sport you can think of. The last five minutes were simply phonomenal. And how close was it!! I hope the race lives up to it.

Did you see Melandri's wobble coming out the stadium section?

GREAT Quali!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The last 5 min were really exciting to watch.
Congrats to Dani for taking the pole, already exptected to see either Vale or Dani on pole. Checa did a good job as well!! Great for the spanish fans to see two spaniards on the first row.

Casey did again a very good job, 5th ain't bad at all!!
Nicky's result is a bit disappointing, his time wasn't even that bad, ''only'' 5 tenths slower, but he will start from 11th position. Wish him the best tomorrow!!

The race should be exciting for sure. I can't wait!!!!!!!
<

Think we will see a Vale/Dani battle tomorrow. Should be exciting for sure!

BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, Capi was indeed off the pace!!!! Damn, he will start from 15th position!!!!!! Compared to his teammate, Stoner, thats not so good. I'm especially curious about Casey's performance tomorrow. Will he be able to reach a podium finish (again)?? I think so yeah..but I expect the fight (for the win) to be between Rossi and Pedrosa.

The big unknown for me is how the Yamahas will go without Qualifying Rubber. In FP they were really struggling from a lack of grip, the quali tyres and also the track temperature may have helped them in quali but come race day they could be in trouble. I hope Checa can suprise everyone but I think Pedders will run away with it tommorow.

Excuses can be made for Nicky and Loris, but the fact is that one was four tenths slower than his teammate, and the other was eight tenths slower. I suppose there could be setup differences but especially in Loris case thats a big gap.

Interestingly it looks like Ducati have been caught on the speed front. Stoner and Pedrosa were equal at 275 through the speed traps, and the Yamaha's aren't too far behind at about 272. Hopper was pulling 274, which shows just how much progress Suzuki have made. He might be on for a podium tommorow, I hope so because its about time they got up there.

I think Melandri could pull something out of the bag tommorow, as could Checa and Roberts. Not too sure about Stoner, I think he has the pace, but it'll be interesting to see. Dani looks really strong to me though.

That was flippin amazing..........talk about level playing field, how cool was that?. It's anyone's race.

Should be superb! I can see this being a titanic battle between Vale and Danni, perhaps a significant one in the mind stakes.

............and I'm going to miss it!!!

Why on earth are you missing it?

Great quali...Marco had a hairy wobbly moment there...seems quite recovered from his 'flu though so think anything could happen tomorrow.

Saw a big interview with Stoner before quali...it was his wife this and his wife that....awwwww....how cute can the boy be??

Hope Vale's rabbit comes back to life tomorrow!!!! Well..it IS almost Easter
