Colin's Beemer

I can understand what people are saying, and that there are so many contributing factors to it all. But looking at it from a simpletons point of view, they havent got much testing to do before next season, and they simply cannot be like them new teams in f1 where they spend the first 5 years last every practice, every qualifying, and every race. Otherwise there is no point in them being there ?

Horsepower wise, I think realistically theyre only going to get +5 maybe 10 more ponies than the WSBK guys. Now regarding the chassis situation, how long did it take Suzuki to work out how to get heat into the Bridgestones whilst getting feel from the front? Best part of 2 years maybe. So Mr Suter better pray Bridgestone softens there construction up quite a lot.

The Bridgestones will be some softer than the 2011 spec, but still significantly harder than the Pirellis, for example. It will be interesting to see how these chassis evolve throughout the winter.

Ah,sarcasm, the trait of the upright walkers.

RdP did a 1.41.5, tweeted by Dennis Noyes & various websites, he was riding a wsbk spec Aprilia rsv4 with carbon brakes & bridgestones, 10 kilo's OVER crt weight limit... that time would have been 4th fastest last time 990's rolled at Jerez....

I'd like to thank Edwards for giving us a decent gauge on CRTs. And he'll make them interesting to watch next year. He could have retired, but i think he opened the way for other riders of his calibur to take the leap of faith.

Randy DePuniet is underrated. I would havw liked to see him on a decent satelite or even factory ride. If given the chance, i would have traded him for Pedro. I think he would have surprised a few peeps.

Nice times, but still a long way from the 1'37s and 1'38s of the factory bikes. RDPs time is a bit disappointing to be honest. A WSBK Aprilia with Bridgestones and carbon brakes is about as well-sorted a bike as you'll find. Still 3-4 seconds shy. The weather might be adding a bit of time, but still......

Randy rides well once in a while. Colin seems to ride consistently. It'll be two races next year, factory bikes and CRT bikes.

I'd like to see spies podium consistently next year and Colin lead the CRT bikes. As far as bikes go, I'm hoping Ducati gets the bike sorted out and the aprilia does well.

Throw a set of Pirellis on that bike....

Does anyone know if RDP has been officially signed. The Aprilia is only on it's second outing and already doing much better. I think they wont have any problems mixing it up with the satalite teams at some point next season. They still have 20lbs to take off the bike and more chassis and suspension work.

what i want to know is why they are spending so much time with the complete rsv4 package? when they build their own frame, it will probably completely change the characteristics of the bike, unless they feel that the standard rsv4 frame is adequate, and plan to reverse engineer it and stick an aspar logo on it??

maybe they are just flogging the guts out of the engine at the moment to see what it can do, but then again, why wouldnt they test it on a bench?

can anyone shed any light on this?

I believe they are benchmarking the stock frame with the MGP B'stones to see which direction they should go in with frame development.

Don`t forget the last few years of the 500cc class.I seem to remember the 250cc times getting very close to the 500 times....not sure if thats relevant to this topic though.
