Roger Lee cracked a 10th on a one-off, I'm hoping he at least comes in front of West, Guintoli, & Elias.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Jumkie @ Jun 18 2008, 10:28 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>But your not telling the whole story about Roger Lee performance. Consider that this was his first time on a GP bike. Consider that he was unfamiliar with those bridgestones (not just unfamiliar with the bike) that you think were so "superior", forgetting that it was mostly Stoner kicking .... Consider that even the "great" Rossi had to adjust to the wear characteristics of the bridestones after countless laps testing and a couple races before he made them work (less you forget he faded uncharacteristically the first two rounds this year, which were categorically blamed on his mismanagement of tires). Consider that Roger Lee had just come off a 150 HP AMA supersport bike to run a 220+ HP MotoGP bike (that he had seen only in picture for the most part). Consider that he did beat some of the MotoGP regulars straight up.

Now if you consider this, then his 10th seems a bit more impressive.

Most "Americans" are saying they don't think he will finish top ten (so where did you ge the excuse making idea)? Do you read English? Or do you just blindly post stupid .... 99% of the time to show your anti-American ...? Spare me the condescension about "American's" making "excuses". Why don't you say, for those 'Spies fans' claiming he will tip the top ten, what will be their excuses if he doesn't deliver? Do you see the difference, or is your blind hate for all things American impede such distinction? I have seen you write from time to time similar .... (hence why I'm calling you on it now).
So you're saying that because RLH finished 10th on an unfamiliar bike on unfamiliar tyres on a track he knows well that Ben Spies can do equally well on an unfamiliar bike on unfamiliar tyres on a track he's never been around before?
For the record I'm not anti American but I do hate the way some American people are so forceful in the way they talk down to people from other countries, it's as if they think they're the best. Just like you Jumkie.

Ask Tommy Hayden.

The bikes are incomparable, they are completely different, so we just have to get along with this one and I think for the first session we did fairly well.´

Wonder if this is what Dovi was talking about. They are easy to ride BUT to find the pace and keep it is quite difficult. He was faster that Guinters though

Damn MOTOGP bikes. Bring the 990s back.

Neil, talking "forceful" is not limited to what country you come from, so why single out Americans? You have a tendency of opinion for certain riders and obviously clash with those fans that have an opposing opinion. You mistake this dynamic with national background simply because you have difficulty debating certain points or simply just disagree. In fact, it seems you simply just can’t accept certain riders, perhaps because of their background. You come out with a condescending post, should I in turn look to see where you are from and make the conclusion that people from your country are a bunch of condescending twats? If you can't make the distinction, then don’t go crying foul when I call you on it.

On to the topic. How do you keep missing what is plain to read on this thread? Twice now you say something that is incorrect regarding expectation for Spies by his fans. You ask what would be the "excuses" made if he doesn't break into the top ten as if you read somewhere that people are saying a top ten is expected. Where did you get this?--(second time I'm asking you). Now you say that this is what I meant when I defended Roger Lee's 10th at Laguna to mean that Spies would do the same? How did you imagine this? Have you missed the sentences that say, the hope is he can at least beat the last three guys, or that NOT much is expected, since he himself said it? You are reacting to imaginary expectations that have not been voiced here, especially by me. “Hoping” he cracks the top ten is a far stretch than saying he will crack the top ten. “Hoping” is very similar to “rooting”, no necessarily a realistic expectation and certainly its not a statement of prediction (do you understand?) Do you ever hope your favorite rider does well? Do you read and understand English (oh wait, I'm I being forceful?) Ok. Let me rephrase that, can you please, pretty please, explain why you think his fans are saying he will do as well or better than Roger Lee, or that he will even have a competitive showing? Where did you get this? Pretty please, with an ice cream and cherry on top.

Ah you do patronising well too.
You yourself were saying that you thought Spies would do as well as RLH did at Laguna last year. Hence why I highlighted some of your posts.
You know last year I remember writing that I thought Edwards was going to do better than Nicky come year end. You jumped right down my throat and tried to twist my words into something you wanted them to say. You do that so well, no one can argue with you. If someones opinion differs with yours you do your best to ridicule and belittle them. Relax man, it's the internet, it isn't real.
