Cal: down the duke drain.

am I the only one who thinks cal will do ok on the ducati?

his I don't give a fk style should be more suited to him  than anyother rider since stoner.

You're indeed the only one who "thinks" he'll do well.

There are plenty on here "wishing" he'll do well be even they quietly know better.

The only Stoner'esk rider on the grid is MM.  The others are actually out of control when they look out of control.

Very well stated.

Do wish him well but down inside is the thought that he could possibly be the number three rider on Ducati behind Dovi and Ben come next year. The Ducati is a monster to tame and takes a while to get a good grip on it. Something Cal does not have a lot of (time that is).

I think Cal on the factory M1 is (would be) a Championship contender.  That's why I'd prefer to see him sit at Tech3 until 2015.  He's very good, consistent and has seemingly stopped his 2012 propensity for mistakes and off's.  He seems to be able to push hard and extract the most from his current ride.  At the beginning of the race when his bike is ill handling, he patiently waits for the bike to come to him and then he makes up ground.  I'm taking nothing away from him.  He's a great rider.

That being said.  The Ducati is an anomaly.  If you show me a guy who does best when he's on a very sorted well set up machine, I'll show you a guy who's going to HATE the D16.   That guy is Cal.  Sprinkle in Cal's penchant for straight talk and criticism....and I see him clashing with Ducati management early on.  That won't work out well for either of them.

After Cal's first test on the Ducati, he won't even notice how much fuel is in the tank.  Full, emtpy whatever...that's his biggest complaint now!  Can you imagine how relieved Nicky and Dovi would be to have a bike that comes good after 6 laps?

But there aren't any factory Yamahas available. Lorenzo is set there, and Rossi can stay until he decides to retire. Which ain't just yet.

I understand.  But that Tech3 bike is going to look pretty rich by round 5 next year though.

I'm NOT wishing!!!

I'm fcuking praying!!!

But as Obi Wan said

"don't worry there is another" and he ain't got guoire hair either.

Cal to Ducati was settled at Laguna. He will earn at least as much money as Dovi. Who knows how this old Tech3 duo will do at Ducati next year. I wish both of them (and Ducati) all the best.

The next interesting question is, where is Nicky Hayden going to end up?

Cal to Ducati was not settled at Laguna. I happen to know that for a fact.

Good to know.

Any idea about  Hayden's destination?

Not so shabby, they say Forward is going to get 2013 M1 hardware.

Quite. Though another little birdie told me that Hayden might get put on a Honda proddie racer somewhere. Honda US love Hayden almost as much as Jumkie does.

Earl doesn't love Nicky as much as JuNkie does

Cal on the Duc next year might be ok.  It takes time to sort a bike and I'm sure Audi will bring something better to the party next year....that is if the Phillip Morris money hasn't just dried up?

As far as Nick's future, hell either the NGM/Yamaha or Production Honda would be better than staying with Ducati and riding the Pignale in WSBK.
