Cal: down the duke drain.

I predict Cal will go to Ducati, then;

1. He will get bested by Dovi (again)

2. He will become frustrated

3. He will voice his frustration often and loudly

4. Ducati with not be amused after having Nicky and Dovi quietly go about their business for several years demonstrating super human patience

5. Cal will continue to bemoan

6. The relationship will sour quickly

7. Someone will tell Cal to stfu because he's only there for the money

8. Cal will cruise for dollars like every Ducati rider save Stoner with no real results

9. Cal will wish desperately that the Tech 3 bike were still available

10.  It won't be

11.  After two years of being nobody, his results from 2013 will appear much like Nicky's 2006 Championship, ie, largely forgotten and discarded

12.  Cal will never again contest for the podium

13.  Cal joins Nicky Hayden, Ben Spies, in WSBK

That's all.

European Priviledges can be removed too matey ;)

Up until now Cals been able to dodge bullets. So....Prediction 1. Bautista regains form, takes out VR indefinitely. Duc deal averted. ..again in the Nick of time. Cal replaces injured VR. Cal 2014 WC.

Or...2. Cal signs with Duc for a lifetime of cheese. Audi revamps project, fields a 07 type bike where only Cal can ride ala Stoner. Cal 2014 WC.

Right lil Red?

Wait a second....isn't there some kind of hokey referendum on EU membership coming up soon?  Are you claiming "Europe" now?

Mrs. Merkel will be thrilled to hear you've changed you tune.

I'd personally rather see Cal stay where he is if that's at all possible.  He'll finish higher, stay relevant and have a better shot at a proper bike in 2015.  Ducati is a black hole at this point.  Aside from the Factory SIZE paycheck, I can hardly see the upside to that move.

So if he leaves for Ducati, it isn't because Yamaha don't want him.

...... if I know how you got there from what has been posted.

I suspect, Cal being the strong-minded individual he is, he will go where he gets the best deal, whatever that is. I think Jarvis made it exceptionally clear that Yamaha want him riding for them.

Referenda related to EU membership tend to be rather inconsequential.

Umm, yeah that's what I said. If he goes to Ducati, it isn't not because Yamaha gave him the boot. It's because he thinks Ducati is the better package.

Re:11 - what if he has an option to leave after year 1? I'd want that in my contract...

Depends whether or not Cal has the upper hand in these negotiations. He played this hand once before and it didn't really go his way.

His stats are far better now.

CONFIRMED:

Good for him, most said he wouldn't go far on the Yam but he has, he might just have joined Ducati at the right time.

Well, if his previous luck is any indication...see my prediction #2. (Anyway, regardless at least he will be reunited with Dovi...this way we'll have a way to compare his results. )

Yeah right. Cal was spot on about the Pol deal. Jarvis will announce the new Tech 3 rider one nanosecond after Ducati make their official announcement. I would bet an ice cold beer that Pol's salary will be a lot sweeter than the crumbs that Tech 3 offered Cal to stay. Good on Cal for jumping ship on that back stabbing bunch.

If Pol gets a sweeter cash deal im sure Cal will tell us. Regardless Cal wasnt in a position to tell them who they should or should not hire. MotoGP is not about should, or as Dovi best said, "MotoGP is not a meritocracy. " Personally I think its a pride thing. If Cal is as good as he thinks perhaps staying as Pols teammate would have been a great rivalry, then he could have proved his point on the track. I would have taken less money swallowed my pride stayed at Tech3 and see what happens after VR retires. Even if the Duc improves because Dorna force Bridgestone to make them a tire, he still will be paired up with Dovi. Cant see him beating Dovi. Now if bike parity stays the same the best Brit will be Bradley. Nice kid yes, but I bet he will be giving Pol a run for his money. Which will make Cal wish Dorna bail him out ala Rossis fateful pride induced move to Ducati.

It went his way this time. 2 year deal, option to leave after 1.

That's a great deal for him.  Very astute move.

So with that in mind, we can already launch the "Where's Cal in 2015" thread because I can't fathom that he'd be there 2 years.

am I the only one who thinks cal will do ok on the ducati?

his I don't give a fk style should be more suited to him  than anyother rider since stoner.
