Burgess: No trouble found on Rossi's engine

Stoner fell off more than twice in practice (I recall twice at PI alone) but you have no got me thinking how many other times.

I recall one were it was a wet practice (Motegi maybe) and somewhere else. Actually, you have now got me thinking.

Is there anywhere that does keep a tally?
Garry

He fell off in the warm-up at assen.

Stoner is responsible for the big dip in viewing figures this season, my suspicions where confirmed when he was still wanting to go off into the distance with his very fast bike even after he had the championship won. He knew the situation with Dorna but he still didn't care he is self centered.

this is exactly what I mean no where does it say rossi is my favourite no where in my post did I say anything about rossi but yet all the replies to my post were going on about rossi what if I said nakano was my favourite then all your rossi this rossi that doesnt apply... Im just saying if you say anything against austraila or stoner it automatically means your a rossi worshipper and as far as moving to austrailia... the italians that moved there must have been imigrants!, Ill never like stoner because Ill just think of reading these posts

I dont care if you say

you shouldnt let a few fans make you like a rider or not.. because to bad it does!

Also most italians dont care for casey they just like seeing ducati win

I agree. Since they started attacking Rossi and his fans like this I stopped buying Australian products (mainly beer and wine). I never knew these chaps are so aggresive.

He also seemed to imply in this interview that he thought casey was a fairly good rider, which is all that most australian posters are saying.

most of the aussies here are implying much stronger words than that and then they are deliberately trying to rub it in to the Rossi fans with no real merit to do so because as you said Rossi has not had the equipment this year and hes arugably the best rider ever.

Then when we bite back we get body slammed by about 5 or more aussies for saying anthing negative about Stoner

really Duc. must be loving Stoner ... how good could it get ..... A rider who was not highly ranked last year wins extensively on their bike .... and makes it look great!! ..... but to their credit Duc. where the first folk out there raving about Stoner.

To be fair Ducati's signing of Stoner was a major case of 'culo'. They didn't sign Casey because they were raving about Stoner. They signed him because after Gresini refused to release Melandri and Hayden turned them down they weren't left with a lot of options. The fact that Casey and that bike got on so well was lady luck giving Ducati a huge kiss - with tongue.

On topic - I think something went wrong with the electronics of valentino's bike, which may also explain why the bike tossed him off in practice and led to him breaking his hand in the first place.

Hmmm...he didn't race with the same bike he fell with on Satuday did he? That one was ready for the scrap heap. So doubt it was the same thing that caused it. Unless they downloaded the bug off the wrecked bike and into his race bike. Sabotage anyone?

i was just thinking if they reduce traction control it gives the bike more power doesn't it?

Ducati would have no need to do this so their bike was safer and more rideable.

Do you think maybe thats why Capirossi didn't get on so well because it didn't suit his style and maybe if they did turn it down the Ducati becomes a bit of an animal anyway.

I don't know. From what I've heard from Stoner and Capi they have quite different styles and surpricingly enough, capi is the one with 250 style with high corner speed. Stoner (and pedrosa) use a halfway point and shoot style they developed in 250. I think that it just clicked with stoner, his riding style and the tc. They suite each other, while it dosen't suite capirossi. That probably means that the tc are far from perfect but a close and very match for Stoner. Truning it down would create more power in the turn, increasing slides and increasing the danger for highside. Tc are probably so good that in 9 out of 10 turns it does a better job than a human, meaning the would loose time turning it down, and that goes for all the bikes. Besides, it's allready adjsutable and I think they all have some kind of onboard adjustment. At the least they have a dry/wet switch

hahaha - Judging by that post I don't think your old enough to buy beer & wine.

Now can I ask this?
Who is attacking Rossi ( besides the usual suspect )
I was pointing out the double standards in Andrews post about falling off.
Of course you're more likely to come off pushing a slower bike to go faster than it probably should, but that's the case for all riders not just your favourite.

I didn't see the qualifying crash; we get good coverage of the races but qualifying isn't telecast at all. There was some speculation that the crash was caused by a problem with the traction control.

The conspiracy theory I like is that michelin gave valentino surplus 2006 LCR front tyres for the valencia race

No-one says you have to like stoner, but if you say all the australian posters on the forum are tools you perhaps shouldn't be surprised if you get a few replies from them.

It would take a lot more than a few nonsensical posters on an internet forum to diminish my love for most things italian. I actually moved to where I live now because it is the italian part of sydney, and I have been a ducati (and ferrari) fan for many years.

Gee .... the guy had two fingers stiffly strapped together on the throttle and front brake side .....

I assume this would alter your usage of those two things at least ...... then he would he would have had to put more emphahsis on the back brake etc. .... given the bike seemed ok after that corner ... in the race .... it just looked like a brake balance thing to me..

a vid of his hand on the throttle would have been good ....

Well I hear tell that there was a little antenna on the back of the bike during the tests ...... and that Casey was standing out in the infield behind a pole with some sort of remore control unit .... I don't know what it means but ... I'll let you interpret that for me

Well given that Schumi's result is being questioned elsewhere I am now of two minds as to whether to accept it as gospel ..... besides ..... now that Hoffa has gone Germany needs a GP rider ... and all Schumi had to do was to beat Hoffa's lap times to be the best german rider, as well as driver ...

I can only see one guy who downright attacks Rossi fans .... but really I think he went lobo after all the weird notions the Rossi fans have come up with as excuses for this year. You even downright say you hate Stoner!! .... why don't you watch the racing not the riders ..... you can't lose that way ..... after Doohan dissappeared .... I thought ok I have been into it for years before Doohan ... why did I like it?? ... cos I liked to see one guy overcome all the others really .... whoever it is ....

You guys hated Hayden for winning ... now its Stoner ... well good luck to you!! ...... my bet is you haven'r got a Cadillac either have you?? ... after you stopped buying US stuff cos Hayden beat Rossi!!

You can still like Rossi even though he is not winnng ..... I do ..... but he ain't the one who deserves the accollades this year .... as he was not in 2006. But to put down the winners by constant finding of " crazy excuses why Rossi failed" is downright ridiculous .... so expect comments back .... not the consolation you guys seem to be expecting.

Even the "its a transition year" crap ... is wacko ....

At the beginning of the year.. all riders had the same target ... some riders we assumed would be there at the end ..... and I must admit unlike many others I did think Stoner was going to impress on the Duc... not because it was a Duc. but because it was his first front line team ... along with his momentum throughout his career ... but that may have been wishfull thinking.

Hayden and Rossi last year put up a great fight ...... Hayden won in the end and deserved full Cred. ....... not crazy excuses why his win was in some "crazy reallity" ... false.

Same with Stoner ...... if you belittle his efforts and achievements ... expect comment ......

oh is is ,is it ?
you disagree that 3 major rule changes in one year were going to spring up a few surprises good for some bad for others. thats have a look at these rule changes.
1. capacity change
2. the new tyre regulations, limited and have to be chosen thursday. how many teams had tested there tyres at misano before ?
3. the one that really hurt some teams, 1 liter less fuel from 22 to 21 liters.
when i said about the transitional year it was not to put stoner down, far from it, it was to explain why some riders/team's were struggling. i think we were all surprised to see hrc so far back at the beginning.
now if you take pointing out these facts as a dig at stoner, then thats your problem.

I love Ducati. I love their balls for taking on the Japanese. I think their forward thinking has finally paid off. And I think they make gorgeous sexy bikes and deserve every good thing that comes to them. AND I can't wait to see Marco start to win races on one.
