All jokes aside, including Synn, Rossi will be remembered as an all time great, if not the all time great as he may have been had he retired after the 9th title in 2009.

He may be continuing to garner money and fame I guess, but otherwise he doesn’t seem to me to be getting much enjoyment from persisting in the premier class, and indeed if bitter tears are in question few tears could be more bitter than those shed by him after being beaten by Lorenzo in 2015, after looking like he had cried himself to sleep for a number of nights at a certain Sepang press conference. His obsession with winning a 10th title he never needed to justify himself gives every appearance for him personally of outweighing all the imo mostly well deserved success he has had.
