Brno Race Thread

Well Stoner shat on everyone again. Great ride from Hopkins and Hayden. Hopefully both riders can keep it up. Chris V was in pretty good race form and was able to lift his pace to a solid 5th, a good dry run for him considering some of his previous dry outings.

Rossi/Yamaha/Michelin, WTF happened there? The Honda used the Michelin tyre much better, as far as im concerned unless he is the top Michelin rider it wasn't solely the tyre that let him down so whatever Yamaha have been testing isn't working well. I don't really see how an engine upgrade will fix whatever problems they are having but I guess Monday and Tuesday will answer a few questions.

Ant West was quite disappointing, I'm sure he'll be pissed with himself. Misano could be a happier hunting ground, but he should be beating a guy that can't walk unaided.

Barros and Checa, same consistently ordinary ..... Nakano even worse. Guintoli should replace one of these guys for sure. We've seen the best they have to offer and no one is buying.

Roll on Misano.

you talk crap caseys bike hasnt made a hicup been perfect since day one and thats the only reason he wins so many races, hes a good rider but will never be a great like doohan or rossi so stop dreaming, it wont always be this way as soon as yam and honda and others get there tricks sorted the game will change so enjoy your world champion this year cos i cant see this happening again when they the setup is rite and ...... tyres sorted, michelin shoulda just wedged a pile of candy floss around around the rim cos thats about as good as there rubber gets at the moment.

and stop using so many caps cos its pissing me off.

It is hardly Stoner's fault that his competitors have slipped up, there doesn't seem to be much more he could have done himself this year. I also doubt that Ducati have outspent Honda and Yamaha.

However, even if he does eventually become great, I think it will be as a stone killer like Doohan, which works alright for me. I don't think he could ever aspire to the charisma and artistry of Rossi.

It's strange, it is only Rossi's Yamaha that has tyre problems, none of Hondas with Michelin has this kind of problems.

It is time to consider a problem with the bike or the rider, who is consuming the tyre a lot to keep on fighting for positions. The bike could be shaking a lot and wearing off the tyres more than normal or the bike setup isn't so good and Rossi could be pushing hard over the tyres to make up the poor setup.

In Formula 1 the tyres are the same for everyone and this kind of thing happens a lot, one car wear off more tyre than the other. It will depends on how the car is adjusted.

Anyway, I'm shrugging for Yamaha and Rossi, I want to see Ducati smashing the giant bikezillas.
<

lol, the "tiny" factory giving the giants a run for their money.

Four motorcylce Godzillas struggling to keep with the "little" factory. This is very, very funny.
<

Stoner now can lose 10 points per race, a very confortable situation.

Rossi, throw the towel? Well done, if he had joined Ducati in 2004, when they invited him, probably would be the champ in 2006 and now in 2007 and maybe next year, better than only in 2005 with Yamaha
<
. But not, he underestimate Ducati telling the world that they have not a competitive equipment. well done, well done, then try to match Casey and Melandri next year, let's see what the former world champ will do.

Only 6 races remaing, bring this title Ducati!!
<

well its certainly not the rider i think rossi tyres were shot back and front the back wasnt looking healthy after a few laps and i could also see the front was shot after about 6 laps, atm i think stoner is the second best rider in motogp but i dont think he is as good as rossi sorry, rossi has some serious back luck following him around this year but it will be good to see a different world champion so well done to casey.

well as thought by many stoner ran off with it today. he's in a class all to himself right now so i'm not going to say he is.... but he is certainly looking like the 07 champ. this kid is good! hopper in 2nd! well it's good to see him runnin up front & cuttin the pace. he was the only 1 able to run stoners lap time he just could'nt do it long enough. can he win 1 before the season ends? i'd like to see him do it. i'm sure the guys at kawasaki are smilin! hayden 3rd! glad to see nick comin to grips with the under performing honda. 3 podiums out of the last 4 races. beat his teamate hondas golden child & was top michelin runner. will there be more improvements to come? i hope so.
<
4th daniboy. well for the top most important honda guy a good job just not great. he shoulda beat his teamate but did'nt shoulda been the front michelin guy but was'nt & is supposed to be way better than & kickin stoner's ... but definately is'nt! 5th for cv. well it looks like cv got some confidence from that 2nd in laguna cause he was lookin pretty good today. gettin by rossi & cappers for that position is sayin somethin methinks. he needs to start showin some dry weather form if he's gonna be #1 at suzuki next season. capirossi for 6th. maybe a move to suzuki will do him good. bring back some of the old form... maybe
<
7th rossi oh how the mighty seem to have fallen on hard times. whats goin on with vale? bike? tires? taxes? or all of the above? 8th depuniet. enough to keep his job on the green squad next season? there are still 6 more chances to prove. well the rest well were the rest. gotta give toni elias a bye cause of his leg & ant west? well it's not all gonna be gravy. he still has the 6. oh & colin maybe he should go to the ama...

spoken like a true fanboy!

being a die-hard Rossi fan, its clear this season, Stoner (as much as i hate this twit) is a better rider than my beloved Rossi.. it wont last, The Doctor will be back! crap race.. well done Vermy, Hayden and Elias for riding with a semi broken leg!

no one is better than rossi , stoner is riding better because he has the rite tools a man cant do the job without the tools, you cant expect rossi to work miracles on a shod machine, you should edit your post to riding better than rossi, not a better rider.

Another easy win for the Duca/stones team

really good to see Hoppa up their having his best ever moto gp finish.
With Nicky in 3rd and Dani in fourth seems only the Yamahas were struggling this weekend with apparently all three yams slowest in the speed traps.

Dani did not seem to be too happy after being out quilified and out raced by his team mate.

CV move on Vale - sheer brilliance

Interesting listening to David Coulthard about the tc being removed next year, maybe as we seem to follow suit in moto gp the same will filter down .

Cant wait for Misano

I liked that he pointed out that the skill and difficulty is there all the time, but TC just makes it less visable to the average fan. A good point from David

Stoner is riding consistent but it looks more than this because the other riders like Rossi can't ride to the maximum. Today was kind of boring even tho i knew Stoner would likely win he has such a big lead i was thinking he could have had some fun with Hopper and put a show on for the viewers.

makes it kind of easier for us layman to understand the degree of what tc actually does that we can see.

i suppose if we all wait long enough everything in motor racing comes around full circle and we get back to basics.

Very hard as Julian Ryder says to de- invent technology and also a lot harder to police

It was boring. F1 boring! So I turned over to the football. I hate wishing someone would have bad luck to make a race or championship more interesting.

Miserably boring race. Watching the race gave me the same thrill I as looking at the results data. I guess it was kind of predictable though, Capirossi won easily last year and this year it was Stoner. Track layout is sort of like Laguna, so big gaps were inevitable.

Everyone at Yamaha look like their ready to pack it in. They are awful this season. It took them two seasons of hard work to be world champs thru Rossi in 2004 and 2005 and it's taken them just two years to flush it down the toilet and end up back where they were before they had Rossi. If I remember correctly the Tech 3 deal for Edwards isn't quite done yet, if I were him, I'd book a plane ticket back to Conroe.

This race was huge for Hopper and Hayden. After going down at their home GP they had to get a good result for the championship standing.

Hayden regained the 16 points he lost to Melandri at Laguna, he passed Barros and Capirossi in the standings. He put up 16 points against Colin this weekend and 5 points on Vermeulen. Hayden will pass Edwards in the standings eventually, assuming Hayden stays healthy. If he can pick off Melandri or Vermeulen by season's end he will have finished a respectable 6th in the standings. I'm excited for Hayden though, he's a long way out of a respectable finish, but the season ends with PI, Sepang, and Valencia.
<
Hayden should make serious progress at three of his favorite tracks.

Hopper gained 20 points on Melandri and tied Vermeulen by gaining 9 pts on him this weekend. He also extended his lead over Hayden by 4. Unfortunately, the points he posted on Rossi and Pedrosa are moot since he's probably too far back to both (44 to Pedrosa, 62 to Rossi). A couple more good results from Hopper and he'll be untouchable in fourth.

Yes but equally a hard tyre to pedrosa would work totally differently to a hard tyre to rossi so u cant really compare as the yamaha may push a lot harder than pedrosas bike.

Rossi fans have admitted stoners unstoppable form stop trying to push rossi down further

Although, you cannot deny Casey's good campaign, I still don't think it's time to write of Rossi just yet, the engines are coming in next race apparently

You'd have to be a desperate Rossi fan to think he could win it now.

He has NO chance.

I'll even wager on it.

Hmm, that all Aussie podium didn't quite work out for you CSCVAW, remember our deal? I'd like to thank MigsAngel, or maybe you should thank MigsAngel yourself for your new name until Misano

Count him out of winning races? No, of course not.
Count him out of the championship? Sure. No new engine for Rossi is going to make Stoner's bike any slower. Rossi could win every race remaining, but unless Stoner's pace drops way off he'd still lose by a large margin.

Rossi's bike needs the new engine ASAP. This ones killing the tires trying to keep up. Suzuki had the same problem in past years.

Great race for the Suzuki squad and they have more power coming this test so Stoner better keep it pinned. They will close the gap sooner or later.

boring, bring on 2008 stopped watching with about 11 laps to go

as others have said it really did seem like a f1 race
