Let me give you guys some perspective. Here in the States, we have a channel called SPEED, which is the premiere (and really, the only) motor spots channel. That claims to be the premiere place to see motorsports coverage of both car and bike racing.

Now we also have a group called DMG, which is the new AMA roadracing owners, so of course they own the TV right. Well SPEED and DMG got together and announced that they would be producing a show solely dedicated to motorcycle racing, called: AMA Pro Racing Prime Time. Believe it or not, this is unprecedented collaboration. Pretty cool right?

Well, they plan to air the AMA races 1 to 2 weeks in delay!

How is that possible? There are no middlemen here; we have the TV channel and the owners of the AMA racing action working together. Nobody else owns the right or has this kind of TV claim of being the television motorsports authority.

Now you guys have 2 channels (correct me if I'm reading this right) covering the same ...., one in real time and the other in a slight delay. BTW, we get race only (with interupting commercials, NO qual or practice). I'd say, you boys got pie in the sky. And we got a big .... sandwich.

Yeah, I guess you have a .... sandwich... but just to make you feel a little better imagine, for a moment, a commentary team consisting of barry machine and pinky then you will have some small understanding of why we were so pissed at the british bollocks corporation having a monopoly on the tv. Ok eurosport full of ads etc but at least it was watchable with the sound on!

There's only one reason for an American to watch any MotoGP coverage on TV: help boost ratings to promotoe the sport. American announcers are mostly .....
You can watch a season of races live for $60 and get the greatest english speaking commentators in the history of motorsport! Easy choice.

We have a guy here named Greg White that would make Pink sound like an English professor. The rest of the guys are not that bad. They usually do a good job on AMA commentary, but oh lord, when they try to do MotoGP commentary, its best if you don't have a gun in the house.

60 bucks, are you talking about buying a subscription to motogp.com?

Speed Ch. uses the motogp feed on their races, the two Brits who do that commentary are very good. Can't remember their names ATM.

MotoGP.com subscriptions are well worth it, IM
Yeah, Speed is fine if you wanna see the chopped up replay races . Harris is there (from MotoGP.com)

When it cost €25 not bad for the intermittent service, but now dorna is taking the piss!

daft question but will they commentate live on the race then just replay it or watch it and think of some some good patter then commentate on the (sort of ) repete ??? im ok with waiting for the best show but don't know if the wife could wait till its shown so i may have to leave the room while the bbc coverage is on . on saying i hate to admit it but build up does seem a bit better on the starting grid

Not a daft question at all. I reckon they will commentate live then air it after the bbc live coverage. I dont think the eurosport team would have time to do a delayed commentary before being aired on tv.
