KTM just lost their head of MotoGP technical development, the former right hand man of Gigi they poached two years ago.

There’s a lot that’s not right at KTM in terms of talent management, to say the least.
I haven't seen the news. To whom did they lose him to?

Unknown at this point.
They just failed to negotiate a renewal after the 2 year term.

If I were Honda I’d be dialing his number like mad right now.

My thoughts are that Yamaha will be faster on the dial.

EDIT: Could the previous relationship through Ducati with Pramac have an influence on whether he ends up with Yamaha? Or is that too tenuous?

Heard somewhere that he just wanted to go back home and not work outside of Italy. Nothing like pasta di mama.

Yep, saw that the other day and decided to relate it to the Jack situation purely because I could, but it would or could seem that KTM either have all of teh Ducati DNA they needed or have decided to shift away because 'they know better'.

Not sure if others remain from the Bologna brigade at KTM any more (after years end) but do wonder if this is coincidence or a plan, and being KTM I suspect a plan

Alberto Giribiola, who defected with Miller, is still there AFAIK. So is Francesco Guidotti.

Heard that, supposedly wanted to move back to Italy, where he has his own company....

KTM are under lot of pressure to deliver a much better bike for Acosta.

Well deserved contract for DiGi

That leaves Aldeguer to be placed on a GP24 on one of the remaining GP24 slots, I think the remaining slots are;
[VR46 GP24 or Gresini GP24] * 1
Pramac 25 Yamaha * 2
Trackhouse 25 Aprilia * 2
LCR 25 Honda * 1

Second factory seat at Yamaha and Honda are to be officially confirmed as well, but looks increasingly likely that Rins and Mir will retain their spots.

I still can't see Augusto or Jack remaining on the grid. Garcia and Ai deserve a shot imo.
Once again it gets increasingly difficult to justify dumping Taka. He just finished today's race as the best Honda which is about as much as you can ask for.
Is there a law that says a Japanese rider is only allowed to compete on a Japanese bike?

Idemitsu being a sponsor has a lot to do with why Nakagami is on that bike. Ogura I thought was supposed to move up (last season was it?) before deciding against riding the career killer.

Imagine always dreaming of riding in the Premier Class only to find out it's going to be on the Honda.

I'd contemplate another profession rather than ride that bike.
