Alex Baumgärtel from Kalex is no longer working with HRC.

Probably because the conversations went like this:

Alex: “See, you need 3 welds here to fix the chatter problem”

HRC-san: “Ah yes of course, 5 welds. Ha-i”

Alex: “No I said 3”

HRC-san: “Of course. 5”

Alex: “VERDAMMTTE SCHEISSE+#^}%}^{%{“
If 3 is good, 5 is obviously better. It is simple maths.

Nothing announced yet; would be sad to see him leave the paddock if it comes to that. He’s definitely talented, probably needs the right environment to thrive. Was the same in Moto3 until he clicked with Leopard.

Did I hear correctly over the weekend that Ducati may have had some buyer's remorse with Aldegeur?

Have not seen anything either regarding Aldegeur and Ducati.

But he's going to have to ride with more awareness going forward while still getting good results. Is he capable of doing this?

Even though he has a 2 year GP contract, I am sure there are outs for year 2 if performance in year 1 does not meet whatever criteria they are looking for. But I feel like the rest of this season and next season are going to be fascinating to watch unfold for him. I'm personally not convinced of this signing, but I also have no idea what Ducati is seeing in him.

I don’t recall seeing anything about this; but it was indeed a bit foolhardy how he threw his race away. Doesn’t make the best of impressions to one’s new employer.

I thought I heard Matt Birt say something along those lines. I probably misheard what he said. Aldegeur seems to run really hot or really cold. Maverick 2.0?

So Boscoscuro is the new Kalex? The one to be on?
It does look this year that they have figured out the Pirellis better than Kalex.

However, the most competitive Kalex teams are mostly part of the Pierer Mobility Group and they all switched to WP suspension this year and suffered in the first half of the season. They seem ti have figured it out since the summer break, so Boscoscuro should have more competition now.

That said, with 4-5 teams running their chassis next year, Boscoscuro should have a lot more data to work with; which is a good thing.

If you ask me though, bring back the 250s. There has never been a more perfect race bike formula and there never will be another.

He looked very impressive in those races toward the end of the season where he just rode away from everyone, including Acosta. Hasn't done the same on different tyres though.
It will be interesting to watch next year.

I think he needs to have someone help him to gel and put it all together, he does seem to be a little rough around the edges but he definitely has the talent for sure in my humble opinion.

Kalex had total domination in Moto2. Are we seeing Boscoscuro heading for total domination or will there be some middle ground with Kalex?
My money is on Kalex matching Boscocuro in the near future. If certain teams haven't already. I think that we may be entering a two-manufacturer era.

What would throw the cat among the pigeons in Moto2 (though more likely Moto3) is if Ducati build machines for the lower classes. It has already been discussed and Ducati say that they are confident they could build a winning Moto3 machine. (Which I think likely).

There's been a stable duopoly in Moto3 for a while. I could see the same thing happening in Moto2. I'm not saying it's definitely going to happen. Just that I think it's possible and maybe slightly more likely than either of the manufacturers going back to absolute dominance.

But, we have to wait for a Boscoscuro to actually win the championship this year. It looks likely, but is far from a done deal.
