Ducati Corse will build 3 bikes for the '25 season. So far, I haven't read anything about their commitments for the last season of the regulations.
If they are comfortable reallocating resources ahead of next season, my money would be on them continuing that trend and no contemplating a return to four factory bikes before '27.

I does seem that they would allow one factory spec bike for their prefered partner. That would mean that said rider would have to spend time testing parts during race weekends, before the reds.
So does Aldeguer go to VR46 in 2026 and get their GP26 ?. I believe his contract guarantees a current spec bike in 2026.

Sure, there is much talk that signing/anointing Aldeguer was premature by Ducati, I guess they will find a way out of the guaranteed currrnt spec bike if he doesn’t prosper. If he does prosper they can offer him future blandishments.

I see your point but drivers for diversity is very different. I just think its stupid that a team(sponsor) would be willing to take an inferior rider because to race because of his nationality. Its dumb.
You're trying to use logic. They don't care about results, it's most likely a tax write off and they can jolly it up at GP weekends whenever they feel like.

It’s not so much diversity as much as it is about who pays the bills.

Repsol has had had, for decades, a rule about at least one Spanish rider. VR46 as we know has an Italians and/ or academy first policy. Even Ducati and Aprilia have not shied away from the fact that they want a top Italian on their bikes.

The Idemitsu seat is no different IMO. Without them, LCR wouldn’t even have a second bike.

Considering the commitment of Japanese manufacturers over the decades it seems reasonable to have at least 1 Japanese rider in MotoGP. I wonder if part of taking Chandra rather than a Japanese national was that there was already a Japanese rider in MotoGP?

The Idemitsu seat is for Asian riders, not just Japanese. It just happened that when they made the commitment, the only rider ready for that step was Nakagami.

The long term vision for that seat is to provide a pathway to MotoGP for Asia Talent Cup riders.

Quartararo is trolling on social media posting a video of doing a side by side practice start with Miller.
Foregone conclusion that the latter will join Pramac, announcement possibly coming next week at Misano.

Hot rumor from the Moto2 qualifying commentary:

- The Yamaha Mastercamp Moto2 team will switch from being VR46 run to Pramac run next year
- Might run Boscoscuro chassis
- Tony Arbolino (Quartararo buddy) and Izan Guevara possibly the riders chosen

Personally, I’d have liked if they retained Sasaki. He needs more time to learn the class.

I get it but it is ....... ridiculous to choose a rider based on nationality over talent in a sport. Chantra is fine but still its stupid. Every other sponsor may desire a rider from their country but they won't choose a rider based on that merit alone. Its dumb the team is stupid and only in motogp as a moving billboard. Paying the bills by pissing in the wind.

It’s either this, or back to the age of pay to ride, because racing is still at the end of the day a business.
I’d rather see a talented rider whose performance AND passport get him a seat than one whose father bought him one (See Abraham, Karel).

This is the key to me. I'd rather see talented riders over passport only based teams. Thats a lot different than pay to race teams. If its a matter of a sponsor only sponsoring a team because of the race of a rider than I could care less if they are in motogp. Especially a team who will be lucky to score a point. The only way they will do that is if enough riders fall. Chantra as much as I like him is doomed unless honda has some kind of immaculate change. If the Nazi's started a race team would they call it Arian Racing? Would you support it?

lol I think we can get the point across without invoking Godwin’s law.

Luca Boscoscuro all but confirmed this rumor in an interview today.
