Interesting.
Bez is the only GP23 that’s running the hybrid 2023-24 Aero today.

We know it was made available to both Diggia and M. Marquez in the past, so I wonder why they’ve chosen to not use it.

Also, the KTM Ride Shyte Device (TM) now goes as low as the Ducatis.

Great to see Bez getting his mojo back. I’d love to see him start his Aprilia journey with top confidence.

That's interesting about the hybrid aero. I wonder why the others chose not to use it. Maybe the benefits to the others wasn't as significant or equal to?

Possibly. It might be that the difference depends on the type of tracks they’re on and the riding style.

That said, just noticed Diggia go out with the hybrid aero so he might have been doing some back to back testing earlier.

M. Marquez is persisting with the old aero so probably he found his sweet spot and doesn’t want to upset it by changing anything.

That makes sense, probably the gains aren't enough to justify it. But we'll see what Bezzecchi does in Q2 with that setup.

MM looks pretty comfortable overall. If he could fix his sector 3 time, and put together a lap that improves there, he'll be in good shape for Q2.

Plenty of surprises in that Q2 session.

Just incredible how Bagnaia can put adversity behind him and just steamroll the opposition. Him through Curvone is a sight to behold.

VR46 Academy lockout of the front row. Unsurprising, as this is literally their backyard. Didn’t expect Morbidelli to ghost himself to P2 though.

Martin on the defensive. He needs to aim for P2 or better in both races.

Very surprised to see how quickly M. Marquez’s front gave way. A complete unforced error that will have implications for his weekend.

Once again, hats off to Quartararo. If you put him on a GP24, the rest of the grid wouldn’t know which way he went.

There really wasn't a better way to deal with the Kazakhstan/India cancellation than two races in VR46-Land?

The best Jörg can do this weekend is 2nd and even that is a stretch. Just don't do anything stupid.

Can’t quite put my finger on it, but Colin Veijer reminds me so much of Brad Binder in his Moto3 days.

could just be the sheer grit and willing track positions into existence.

Moto2 qualifying:

This is now Ogura’s championship to lose, now that Garcia has decided to Hindenburg himself.

Any of the top 3 could win tomorrow. They are all looking strong and a cut above the rest. Glad the guy in P1 finally figured out the Pirellis.

Excellent result for Pramac, Jorge with the commanding win aided by his great start and Morbidelli with his first podium since... 2021?

Pecco will be bummed about losing more ground in the championship but he's a Sunday man so let's see tomorrow. Pretty crappy day for the GP23s with only Marc salvaging some points after a bad start. The KTMs were a mirage and couldn't do much. Quartararo again the best of the Japanese bikes by quite a margin.
