2017 Gran Premio Red Bull de España

Didn't he break Melandri's ankle at the Japanese GP?

That’s the one I was thinking of. I tried to look up Melandri fracture on the inernet when I first raised it, but couldn’t find it on a quick look, which means to younger folk today that it didn’t happen of course.

I recall being told the rider tire vote in 2012 didn’t occur either, but oddly we now appear to be on alternative time track now where that vote did occur.

(EDIT The Japanese GP injury was a practice accident which I found before, so perhaps not that one. I was actually praising Rossi btw. If I am wrong no rider has suffered a significant injury from an incident involving Rossi, as opposed to one if I am correct, either way a great safety record over a very long career).

He only won none race for Ducati.

If you live in a glass house don't throw rocks.

Then it must have been 3 podiums, which I guess is about all he's capable of now.

Ah yes. Marc O'Melandri, Ireland's most successful GP racer. I still remember him lighting up the rear of his Honda coming out of the last turn at PI.

Well he certainly stuffed Sete Gibbering who was a so called contender in those days.

I never minded Sete. He did have an astoundingly unlucky season that was epitomized by a car crashing into the ambulance that was taking him to hospital.
Not as bad as Ben Spies' bad factory season though, that was properly unlucky. It was the kind of season where you could be struck by a meteorite whilst on the operating table.

The only thing I didn't like about Sete was his constant whinging, in fact I think he took lessons off Biaggi for that. Nowadays Rossi has taken up the mantle. :ninja:

I am not going to lie, I felt a bit emotional when Sete won in Welkom after Daijiro passed away.

"Unlucky"

...he didn't have a better sport agent me thinks.

No-one wishes that he crashes or is injured.

If he rides the best on the day and wins good luck to him. The bike seems to be working for Vinales this year so I have no problem if Valentino is better than him and/or everybody else, as opposed to last year when I felt he was influential in the tyre change which I believe stymied Viñales after his promising start.

As i've said here before i don't want to see any rider get injured, but a nice little low speed front tuck on the grass again would be good...

You do... you just lack the balls to say it and stand behind your statement.

No mate ,my balls are plenty big enough and i stand by everything i say, i've followed this sport for over 40 years,i've also seen riders killed at the isle of man tt,both racers and ordinary guys i've ridden with so don't tell me how i think about people being hurt, sure i dislike Rossi but i don't want him or any other rider hurt or killed, now go and .... yourself .

You'd never admit to yourself or others that you went to an event such as the TT to see riders killed. That's the spectacle... men risking death for TT glory and you wanted to see it firsthand.

What a load of bollox, people know it happens, but we don't go to see them die.

What a ....... .... you are,i went every year because i lived in England and i love motorcycle racing,i went because its the most awesome event you will ever see,the spectacle is seeing insane speeds between lamposts and brick walls and getting up at 4 am and riding the course yourself and being overtaken by real racers out for an early practice, not seeing people die,you are a complete .... and a disgrace to this forum and this is the last time i will reply to the utter .... you speak

I was going to reply to this, clicked like by mistake, clicked unlike, typed a response, deleted it. I despair at fuckwits like you, I really do. What a ....... low, inflammatory thing to say.

I thought it was great that the others that just want to piss other people off and have childish arguments had gone off elsewhere to do it.
