Might as well get this topic rolling. Less than two weeks from finding out who will be crowned world champion: Andrea Dovizioso or Marc Marquez. Marquez may be very likely to win, but I can't help but feel that Dovi has a real shot to win this one in spite of it. Dovi has finished 7th the past two races at Valencia, but nearly podiumed with a 4th in 2014. It will be a tough race for him no matter what. I think Lorenzo may be the X factor here as he was quite fast during testing on the Ducati and can taste victory is within his grasp.

Other predictions.

-Calamity Crashloads will find himself down somewhere on the track with his look of perpetual befuddlement.
-Honda and Ducati will no doubt be riding in formation.
-Team orders while understandable still ....... suck.
-No interesting wild cards to be had.
-The Yamaha could possibly be stronger here.

I love Dovi to win, but realistically its not on, the bike is to hard to fight around 30 laps like that. I've always felt Valencia is either a 125cc or kart track, it certainly sucks at the premier level.
Plus of course MM only needs p10 to win and I'm sure he would be prepared to take that position if it meant he won.

This could be the perfect weekend and circumstances for someone like Zarco to make a break while the others are fighting for their teammates.

Lorenzo had a far better one on the Yamaha. Rossi and Vinales should be targeting this race as a must win whilst Marquez rides cautiously.

Not on the bike they are currently using. I'd like to see Vinales get the original 17 bike to use, but will Yamaha let him, I don't think so after all the sun shines out Rossi's arse as far as they are concerned.

Viñalez is a guaranteed iron clad lock to win race because Rossi his teammate will keep Maverick's title contention alive, respecting team order, and not do anything selfish to mathematically eliminate the championship for Yamaha, an obvious payback of loyalty to the manufacturer for keeping the Italian.

If you live in a glass house don't throw rocks.

I'm so happy that Dovizioso has made such a compelling title bid this year.

He is a relatively humble, relaxed and intelligent guy. He never engages in childish theatrics or drama, and doesn't let his ego run wild. He battles hard, but doesn't make stupid or unsafe passes. He reminds me of (the dearly missed, and my favourite rider) Nicky Hayden, in some ways.

He has, by his own admission, improved significantly, and it's great to see a rider at his age make such an important step forward on what is still a very enigmatic and difficult bike to ride.

Bravo, Dovi.

I hope he wins the title, but he should be proud of his efforts irrespective of whether he finishes first or second this year. He pushed one of the greatest talents (if not the greatest talent) in GP history (at the nadir of his career!), Marc Marquez, very hard this year.

Hahhaha that gave me a laugh, especially as he can only come 3rd.

A good scenario would be Cal 'no fault' Crutchlow taking Marquez out. Rossi out in front by 10 seconds to 2nd place Dovi suddenly remembers team Italy orders and slows down lifting his foot to signal Dovi by to take the win, forsaking his first win at Valencia since 03.
I've got more chance of winning the lottery than that happening but still.....

Haha, remember when someone else made a similar joke and you chastised them for supposedly hoping a rider crash?

I think your post was funny Daniboy, and it would certainly be a cringe worthy scenario, but I'd prefer Marc crash on his own like Rossi did 06, Dovi cruising to the win (obviously by remote control) Jack Miller in runners up, not that anyone would remember his mystery broken illness, and of course to round out the podium, Lorenzo, consolation prize to make up for pulling over at Malaysia.

I should have pointed out that I don't wish Marquez a broken leg, just run off the track by an errant #35 which he'd later blame #93 for.

I am still waiting for the interwebs to be full of humans getting righteous about racing those in Championship contention. Granted, I don't visit many MotoGP related websites, and granted there still time to spare, but I still look forward to hearing the call for nofucker to interfere with Dovi and Marquez

It's already been mentioned around the web, and all you see is crickets.

Why the hate on Cal? Sure he crashed a lot but he's a good laugh.

Cal should have stayed at Tech 3, he'd be doing a lot better on the Yamaha than he is on the Honda. He would haven't got his nickname either as he didn't crash so often.

Rossi was asked about the Rosccio Rule repeatedly at the post race con'ference at Philip Island. Rossi eliminated his teammate and Yamaha's championship contention, him being a non-contender and Vinalez at the time still being a contender, it was obviously a spectacular violation of the Rosccio Rule. I'm assuming Race Indiscretion will be taking action soon. You should have seen Marquez and Vinalez's faces as they kept hounding Rossi about it. Classic stuff.

Btw, Hack Oxley wrote an article about it. It is posted on Motodoesn'tmatter's feature guest blog.
