I remember your old Avi. It was a photo of singularly grumpy looking old fart with a 1920's style pencil mustache. Too close to home?

Zep is relevant as nostalgia. About it. Louis Armstrong's music is used in thousands of soundtracks and gets more regular radio play. Doesn't make him "relevant". By your standards Beethoven is relevant.

You don't have the luxury of discounting Hammer Of The Gods. If the stories weren't true, lawsuits would have ensued.

As to Bonham, he was an okay drummer but no modern drummer looks up to him as a giant anymore than they do Kieth Moon. They were more well known for their partying and hotel destruction than they were for their drumming. You're still living in the '60s.

Relevancy for musicians is not based on sentimental baby boomer nostalgia for the good old days. It's based on ability to evolve and create contemporary work, not playing oldies concerts, and revival shows playing the old top 40 hits.

This thread was talking about race related topics until you jumped in making silly comments equating me with an avatar image, and then doubling down insisting on the pretense that you earnestly believe these flimsy accusations. You're the one who derailed it. If you don't want to talk about anything other than racing,
then don't.

Actually my previous avatar was the John Player Special logo, but thanks for trying.

Saying Bonham was an okay drummer is one of the most ....... ........ statements you've made in this topic.

Let's face it Wally, you're an irrelevant poster who no one likes. You ride on the back of others to get in on the action.

Each post you make gets dumber than the last. Your knowledge of Zeppelin is nonexistent because they evolved over 12 years in incredible ways. They played acoustic and got into synthesizers at the end of 70s.

BTW you might learn something Little Worthless. Who knows! Doubtful really.

The original avatar is the one I'm referring to.

As a non-musician I'm sure you think highly of him. As someone who wouldn't know the difference between a paradiddle and a double stroke roll, you can be forgiven for being so naive. Hundreds of better rock drummers have come along in the interim. His stuff is now painfully dated, quaint even.

My posts have had lots of likes, just not from a tiny contingent of haters. I don't come here for the likes. Luckily for me, although you would like to believe otherwise, you don't get to decide who is relevant or who is liked. That's just your inflated self opinion echoed by the peanut gallery.

What Zep did 45 years ago doesn't qualify them as being relevant in any contemporary sense, no matter how much of a fan you are. Time to put away your hip huggers and platform shoes and start living in the 21st.

Meh they ran off to start their own forum last time .... and bored themselves shitless :D

But I note that rog is still exactly the same ..... still thinks he's the smartest bloke ever. ;)

Agree. Still not convinced Krap Magnet is not him. Too many similarities. Attitude, convinced he's much cleverer than he is, thin-skinned, mean-spirited, petty, unable to post anything of merit he tries to compensate by crushing people with sheer volume of posts, sucks up to his old mates, takes himself way too seriously, no real sense of humor etc. If not him, it's his identical clone. And he's definitely a pom. All the curry jokes: right out of the British skinhead handbook. All that ..... about being in Italy is a red herring.

Dovi was leading the race when he crashed

Agreed, but Zarco crashed by himself, whereas VR was taken out.

I was referring to MM. MM would be way ahead if he hadn't messed up at Argentina. He is in brutal form.

Man , what I meant is, things happened. You can’t use what-if to discuss something that already happened because we can play this if and but game until the end of time.

Also in some views, Rossi wasn’t taken out in Argentina. He did it to himself , just like some people didn’t think he kicked MM in Sepang 2015 while some others believe he did.

I didn't argue that Rossi was a better Yamaha rider. I just said that Rossi would be well ahead of Zarco if he wasn't taken out by MM. That is incontrovertible. No rider of any repute disputes that he was taken out by MM.

If you raise Zarco's DNF, that was his own fault.

Did Rossi kick Marquez in Sepang?

If blame is to be allocated in that incident it is to MM I agree, but if Rossi’s priority was his championship position rather than proving a point against MM he could have stood his bike up as he has expected of others for most of his career and avoided the collision, particularly since he must have known MM was a second a lap faster and was inevitably going to pass him anyway.

Yes he did.

And he tried to make it look like Argy. was Marc.s fault ..... layfolk fell for it. ;)

No. Name one racer of any repute who thinks MM wasn't at fault.

MM himself admitted he was at fault.

If you paid attention to the thread then you'd know that despite it being titled 'Zarco' it was merely a stupid rant by some cockwomble and not much to do with racing at all.

If every thread about racing followed the topic in a perfect linear fashion it wouldn't be Power Slide. If the forum elected you to arbitrate what is or is not relevant kindly send me a link to that thread. In the meantime tell me which one of these posts is not about racing? I mean of course besides those derailed by you and your little group of would be net nannies.

Not relevant at all. Listen to these guys. This song only went to #1 on the charts two months ago. I don’t hear any Zepplin inspiration though. Do You?

Look at these two old codgers still playing where’s Waldo

Relevant. Nostalgia. Louis Armstrong, Beethoven, Led Zeppelin. Can you spot the difference? Lil Whittaker cannot. Jk, we have a new dumbest comment.

If you were to enroll your children into a music program, you would be taught one of those three. They are the gold standard of their genre.

Beethoven has been taught in music schools all around the world and has sold more albums than Zepplin by infinity. People will still be going to concerts centuries after Zepplin is totally forgotten. Doesn't make him relevant to contemporary rock 'n' roll.

Literally the dumbest post in this topic.

Bragging about post likes is a new low from you Lil Irrelevant.

We know your from far in the past, are you saying your from far in the future now?

1000 years from now they'll still be saying the mighty zep but no one ever says the mighty bach or the mighty beethoven, at least as far as I know.

Rollover Beethoven?

Methinks you have that back to front.

Even though Im more of a Mozart moaner more than a Beethoven bopper.

FFS Barry, it isn't Roger, the posts are in a completely different style.

Even if it was Roger, who the hell cares?. Judge the poster on his current merits or lack thereof. The bickering about him is worse than any posts he has made imo, and he seems to be mostly posting about bike racing now concerning which he appears to have some degree of interest and enthusiasm which extends beyond Rossi.

Who do you think I think is rog.?

Not that I care .... except there is a guy here who acts like rog. ..... and rog acted like a total .... ..... very often.

If you are thinking Synn ... no hes a total total .....

Good job of glossing over all the things for which you have no relevant reply by use of insults. Keep it up. Works for Trump. Typical tactic for someone constantly caught with his pants down, to distort the meaning of something said as a deflection. Never bragged about anything. Merely said it to trash the falsehood of your mean girls assertion that nobody liked me. I did say I don't care about that stuff anyhow. And of course you have nothing to say regarding your teen mag derived beliefs about Bonzo because that's all they are. You've no actual background in drumming. Some 15 year journalist old kid gushes about him in Tiger Beat Magazine and you buy into it like it's gospel. Ha!

OK, now it's your turn to call me stupid or irrelevant because you have no salient answer. That's pretty much what I expect from you and the other mean girls. You say you want to avoid flame wars, but are always the first ones to go to personal insults when you have nothing of merit to say.
