Tue 21st Jul 09 - 11:55
Donington Park has reassured fans ahead of the 23rd and final MotoGP event at the historic Leicestershire parkland circuit with confirmation that the whole infield area will be open for the duration of the four-day event. All construction work on site has been brought to a stop with any work that has been started now complete.

Spectators can expect the same levels of access and fantastic viewing areas as in previous years, with the added bonus of extra entertainment and improved traffic plans. Staff at the circuit have been working hard to provide a festival-like schedule and atmosphere to bid a fond farewell to the premier motorcycle racing series, which Donington Park has played host to since 1987.

With Valentino Rossi returning to his second home in the UK on winning form and home contender James Toseland battling to prove his capabilities in the top flight, <span style="font-size:24pt;line-height:100%fans are promised an action-packed and exciting race weekend IT BLOODY BETTER BE!! - all at the same price as last year's tickets.

Looking forward to getting to the gate then getting turned away because my home printed tickets won't scan, then getting in a row with the security knobbers, then getting in a scrap, then heading home with a black eye

It says nowt on the ticket, but every time I've been there's been people taking loads in, even the big 24 packs so you should be OK. Don't blame me though if you end up having to down the lot before they'll let you through the gate.

I've been thinking of taking cans myself, cos last year I forgot my ID and couldn't get served at any of the bars there.

Not sure what tim getting there, theres a v remote possiblity of blagging some pit passes from Rizla (friend of a friend of a friend)...otherwise will hopefully try and hook up with ya at some point
