The Last Donny

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (baldylocks @ Jul 11 2009, 11:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>you rekon they actually work ?

there was loads of people tonking it past me - way over the limit and there's enough cameras in one stretch to get you a ban........
<

I believe they only work if you stay in one lane. If you go through one camera and then change lanes before going through the next set they supposedly can't do you for it.

I just printed my tickets out and saw this.

Does this mean there's no infield access at all, or just where those boxes are???

It's crowded enough anyway on race day, so I've no idea how they plan on cramming everyone in if there's no infield.

it says on my ticket 'Please note that there is restrictedaccess to the infield this year, with the exception of hospitality guests for craner suites and customers wishing to use the start finish grandstands.

why the .... am i starting to regret forking out £105 quid ??

Where are they going to put all the trade stands ?

I know what you mean.
<
I just saw that bit on the actual ticket, but I knew nothing about this until I got my tickets sorted. And I never even thought about all the stands and stuff.

Looks like we're gonna have to get there real early this year to get a decent spot for the race if there's gonna be 80,000 people and all the trade vans crammed into the outfield.

This is .......Bonnie, that's another reason my patience is almost exhausted with raceday, because come Sunday, every year, these hospitality areas haver multiplied. I watched the last all 2 stroke GP infield between Schwantz and Mcleans, followed by the classic race, in which Sheeney cleaned up on the Manx Norton..still gives me goosebumps. Th following year, there was a corporate Ducati tent, and a barrier cordoning off exactly where we had stood the year before..and a sign saying 'Official Ducati viewing area' What about the 'official genuine racefan I've forked out a large percentage of my hard earned pay cheque viewing area' This is where the corporate reliance crumbles - they forget about the 'great unwashed' - the average Joe race fans, who support the series by attending each year, buy the merchandise, and - surprise surprise, might actually have want to exercise some viewing preferences in return.

I find this astonishing. The bulk of the crowd sits at Craners on the hill. It would appear, that the usual access point to this is to be cordoned off. Perhaps this only applies to raceday? - Even so, that's a .... of a lot of punters that are gonna be forced into Redgate, or cram onto the mound at Coppice, and the Dunlop straight.

Regarding raceday Bonnie, Aww how could I not be there, and not meet the big man himself?? Rog..PM me, the inbox is now empty of obscenities and Jum's MJ propaganda.

If you both want to stop over on route, say the word...5 miles from Jnct.21

I went to BSB at donny few weeks ago. Normally I would stand on the bank near where the Dunlop bridge was. From there you can see all the way from Mcleans. All that was shut off so most of us were crammed around foggy. It was pretty .... even with BSB crowds. The GP will be a nightmare on race day. Then again, Ive got grandstand tickets, so what do I care
<
.
Didnt go to WSB because of that tho and did notice a bit more of the infield was opened up when I watched it on TV. So might not be too bad.
