well whenever Marlboro sponsors ducati, rossi wont be there
<

you're funny

i dont think Marlboro will be leaving anytime soon, the money they spend sponsoring motogp is pocket money for them, especially when every where else tobacco advertising is banned.

You are of course assuming that Ducati will still be sponsored by Marlboro in 2009.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE<div class='quotemain'>
"Right from the start of the project we have had a positive collaboration with Philip Morris and I am extremely pleased to announce that Ducati Corse has extended the sponsorship agreement with Philip Morris International until 2011. It is a unique partnership, one that since 2003 has linked together two of the most prestigious names in the world with the positive results that are visible for everyone to see. Together we can look forward to the future and the victories to come."

until 2011 at least

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE<div class='quotemain'>"If we want to win the title again, then we need the people in Japan to put in more effort," Rossi told Italian magazine Motosprint. "They must work their butts off.

"For 2008 I have a contract with them. If they show me we can still fight, fine. Otherwise we could make a different choice."

I love it!
1. The possibility of he being the FIRST and ONLY rider to win the premier class championship on "3" different machines!

2. We'd get to keep him the sport we love!

I think the reason Kwak only gave Hopper 1 year is so they could take a whack at Rossi if John doesn't produce.

hmmm... i think hopper has a 2 year deal & west has the 1 year deal.

I think it is safe to say, if he changes teams and wins, the accomplishment of winning for three different manufacturers, on three different types of machines, will never be equaled.

ahhh... never say never.

At some tracks I believe they're only allowed to use a logo and sponsor colours whereas at some tracks it is legal for the full name of the tobacco sponsor to be on the bike.

yes & those tracks are only 3 right now. qatar china & sepang. i think after marlboros contract is up in 2011 there will be no more tobacco in motogp.
