Crutchlow has gone fastest, with a time 0.166s faster than his best race time on Bridgetones.

As debuted on the hybrid bike at Motegi, the factory Yamaha's have the fuel filler on the rear of the seat fairing as the tank extends further rear for better weight distribution:

Miller seems to be cutting faster laps than in the race

Admittedly on the full factory (said to be) but that and a mix of the new Michelin shows the gulf between the Open Honda and full factory

Ducati won't be testing the GP16 until Sepang 1.

Ducati Corse general manager Gigi Dall'Igna has explained the machinery that will be available to the four Ducati teams competing in the 2016 MotoGP season.

Aspar will join Pramac Racing, Avintia and the official factory team in running Desmosedici machinery next year.

On Monday Dall'Igna told assembled media that Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone will not have the new GP16 until February's Sepang test, while confirming that Pramac's Danilo Petrucci and Scott Redding will race this season's 'Factory' bikes.

“Pramac will use the GP15 bike, so exactly the same bike that the factory riders used this year,” explained the Italian. “Avintia and Aspar will use the GP14.2 bikes, exactly the same bike that Petrucci was using during the final part of the season. So both of them can give to the team good results, so I'm quite confident for that. Petrucci and Redding will have exactly the same bike.”

The factory squad will use the two-day Valencia test with its current machinery – the GP15s - as they bid to understand the behaviour of the new Michelin tyres, with geometry changes a possibility.

“This is one of the reasons why we are not here with the GP16. Because we would like to use the last part of the test to understand better the behavior of the bike with these new tires. So we will test tomorrow some different geometry of the bike, just to be ready in Sepang with the new bike.”

Dall'Igna went on to state the GP16 will not be too dissimilar from the 2015 spec, meaning the Pramac squad may receive new parts to test for the official team.

Asked why Pramac didn't test parts on behalf of the factory in 2015, he explained, “You can do this only if you use exactly the same bikes.

“If the other teams have a different machine, you cannot use this as development during the races. So it could be better next year, because the GP15 and GP16 is not so different, as the bikes are this year. So I think we can do this in 2016, but during this year it was really difficult.”

Although the GP16 is not yet ready, Pramac will still make their GP15 debut at the Valencia test, running the the machines of development rider Michele Pirro.

Avintia riders Hector Barbera and Loris Baz will in turn be given the ex-Pramac GP14.2s, with the former Avintia GP14s handed to Aspar team-mates Eugene Laverty and Yonny Hernandez.

Suzuki also plans to debut its 2016 bike at Sepang.

Eugene Laverty said he is testing with GP14.2 Ducati, with Ohlins. Has effectively matched his best lap time on Open Honda/Bridgestone from Sunday's race.

Laverty is still using this year's Open ECU but said traction control works much better on the Ducati than the Honda

Interesting, though probably explained by Ducati having a jump start given they ran as 'Open' for the last 2 seasons.

So far it looks like the factory Yamahas are not liking the tires...

Hoping all this excess crashing doesn't result in any needless injuries that could affect performance of riders for next season. Very much hoping that Dani has an injury free season. Would like to see his confidence at 100% so he can be a serious contender in 2016.
