It is not that symptoms cannot be seen physically, they can. I just think they are really mental, stress and pressure induced by him before hand, so they show up in a variety of probable illnesses and pronounce at race day.

And I quote: "I Think"... I am no doctor or anything like it!

Stoner should ask Rossi 'The Doctor' to diagnose his illness, I'm sure Rossi knows exactly what's wrong with him.

It's all good Mi Hermano. Physical illness whether derived from a crash,
a cancer or simply as a result the stress of life - is debilitating - regardless.
I'm not a doctor - but I can tell you that I dealt with chronic fatigue symptoms
for about 17 years that made my life an absolute hell with headaches,
gut problems, groin pain, insomnia and exhaustion so bad I couldn't get
out of bed for days at time - I was totally suicidal at times. I went to mucho mucho
doctors and spent tens of thousands of dollars that my insurance didn't cover
seeing top specialists and when the CFS finally went away - I couldn't tell you
what the .... cured it. But I'm convinced it was mostly stress induced - what
a lot of ignorant people would categorize as "all in my head". So when I see
Stoner - possibly - dealing with the same syndrome - I can relate. If
his physical illness is psychosomatially induced - I figure, what could be more
stressful that battling Rossi and Lorenzo for the championship?

It's official, Casey is suffering from psychosomatosis...somebody get him a placebo, stat!

MCN
Mystery continues to surround the cause of Casey Stoner’s current health problems after the Aussie denied suffering from mild anaemia on the eve of this weekend’s German MotoGP clash at the Sachsenring.

"I did every test possible but all the blood tests came back perfect. I had a pipe down my throat, in my stomach, scans and I’ve got about 20 puncture marks in my left arm where they were taking blood. It is not anaemia. The tests didn't show anything. It's anaemia but it’s this much (holding the tip of his little finger). I mean I had ten tons of blood taken from me and my body isn't working correctly at the moment. Anaemia is not going to give me this much of a problem, it will give you a little problem but with all the supplements I've got I should have been able to do better in the races. Even if you have severe anaemia you would be able to do better than what I'm doing now but the tests showed nothing."

Given obvious doubts that Stoner could yet again be plagued with the health issues that have seen him finish no higher than third in the last three races this weekend, he said he was hoping for a wet Sachsenring clash to ease the punishment to his body. He added: “Physically it would help a lot. I've struggled the last couple of times in the wet, which I'm trying to understand why but if we can get our bike working well this weekend in the wet then I would much prefer a wet race. It would be one of the few times I want a wet race. It would probably be a do or die race for me, go out and win it or bust, it's been too long since I've had an opportunity top try and win. The bike has been working well, we haven't changed much on it mainly because I haven't got enough energy to go out there and get it perfect. If it was wet it would probably be very welcome." Stoner starts Sunday’s race trailing Rossi by 16-points coming up to the halfway stage in the championship.

Psychosomatic illness is illness that stems from emotional issues. The illnesses
themselves are wholly real. And they don't respond to placebos. Not the same
as hypochondria, which is a kind of hysteria.

Sounds like he's making up an excuse to me. Saying how he wouldn't of perform as poorly as he did if not for this 'mysterious illness'. It's his emotional state of mind that's getting to him, thus resulting in fatigue, lost of confidence, and physical illness.

You people may think what happened to him in that Corkscrew was nothing.... but man, Rossi did a number on this guy. It begs the question, is Stoner really this mentally weak?

Look at Jorge and what happened to him on the last corner of the last lap, yet the guy was able to just brush it off, chalk it up as a loss and move on. But with Casey it seems like he's having a real hard time accepting defeats, which stems from his insecurity. It's not hard to believe by the way, seeing how he was picked on and bullied as a child.

So.... are you saying that perhaps Rossi and Lorenzo is causing this 'illness'?

I don't think this is what they mean when they say Stoner is somewhat
emotionally labile. Tho - you got me thinking . . . what if it did turn out
that Stoner was the first lesbian MotoGP competitor?
