Stoner trolls Jorge

In some ways it comes across as Casey thought horhay would win sooner because he is so good. A kind of compliment if that makes sense?

Clearly it's trying to make headlines as it pits Stoner and Lorenzo against each other even to this day. I was always under the assumption they became pretty good friends after Lorenzo's rookie year.

I feel George felt the same... The win came much later than he expected. I think everyone thought the win would have come sooner. I did. Stoner just speaking to truth.

“Something clicked … (for Lorenzo) he now has a better position on the bike … also maybe he has a little of the cockiness that we have seen so much of in the past–that you don’t want to see.”

I thought that was complimentary too, with Casey speaking from a riders point of view. As if to say that if Jorge has his swagger then we’re in for a tough race.
Casey isn’t a ..... about riders, the only time he seems to speak badly of someone is in retaliation.

I heard the interview live - My impression was that the comments were a little barbed to be honest (I'm a fan of both of them btw)

I agree. I think Stoner has nailed his colors long term to the Ducati mast rather than Honda, whom he left again even after his retirement as a race rider from HRC, and was never going to endorse Jorge going to HRC, whether or not it is a reasonable +/- the best option on an individual basis for Jorge.
