Some Conspiracy stuff to chew on...

He has another hope: GiGi. Maybe the man can work some miracles on the Duc. You know, like with the anti-wheelie fairing and such...

hahaha, i think wheelies are the least of their worries. I dearly hope Gigi does make a real difference. Not only would i love to see Cal win but Ducati also. Trouble is if it does end up a winning package there will be plenty of spanish riders in a couple of years steered towards it.

Maybe it is just because the spanish invest more in motorcycle sport, will not stop them becoming a victim of their own success. Who the .... other that the spanish will give a .... when most riders are spanish and a large % of races are in spain. Interest worldwide is fading.

Dorka grown a monster Snore Fest and want u2 £ for it. hook line sinker

4 bikes on the grid capable of winning, 3 have Spanish riders. That gives a 75% chance of a spanish winner. Then deduct 1 of those as its ridden by a tired Italian. That gives a 100% chance of a spanish winner and a 90% chance of a Spanish 1st 2nd and 3rd each race and pretty much 100% chance of a 1st 2nd and 3rd in the championship. They talk about German engineering but that's give credit where it's due, the spanish engineered this without fault.

How long before the Spanish fans get bored with this pre written script ? lol World championship my arse.

Nothing more than spanish masturbation. Sure their good at it but i aint about to dole out ££ to watch it.

How can you form such a judgement when the playing field was far from level ?

At the end od the day, dani kept his ride due to passport, there were plenty of deserving riders who could have been given the chance. Take Dovi as van example, he was sacked where as that was not ever going to happen fo dani. Them Marquez comes up from moto2, a spaniard the rules were bent for. Disapite there being deserving riders on the grid who had complied to the rookie rule. Motogp is a resist farce.

Herve seemed to think otherwise.

JL, MM and Stoner (I'd be willing to wager) would win on Cal's bike last year. Cal is a fantastic rider but he's not an alien. Watch his races from the last two years he sat behind his teammate Dovi race after race unable to pass him, same with an over the hill Rossi, couldn't best him in a knife fight and I don't think it's the bike. Cal is able to peel of some hot laps in QP but his racecraft isn't top level. I like Cal but these are the facts as I see them.

Pol will be on the best bike Herve can get him and if last year was any indication it will be pretty damn close to factory. I don't like Pol and was cheering for Redding all season, but Pol took the fight to MM two years ago and took the championship last year, he deserves his ride at this point.

And why is a Japanese company (Yamaha) in on the Spanish conspiracy? They are there to win, that's it.

People in this sport get so nationalistic, maybe it's because I don't have a horse in the race, but opinions get tainted real fast as soon as flags get involved. And as mentioned before, Dorna is in the business of making money for it's shareholders. Period. An all Spanish championship doesn't help that cause at all.

You leave out several facts mate. Dovi had essential parts on his bike that cal didn't. Cal was very much the #2 rider behind dovi in that respect. In fact it took a charitable donation by a fan of some 50k to get some of the parts dovi already had for some time.

I'm starting to think that motorcycle racing in Spain is like American Football here in the states: massively popular within the nation's borders, virtually unknown outside. I don't know why the Spanish are so nuts about bikes, but that's at least one reason why there's so many young Spaniards coming up in the junior ranks and so few from other countries.

The Spanish conspiracy theory makes no sense whatsoever. Dorna, whose majority shareholder is a London based VC firm, are in the business of selling the commercial rights to MotoGP. The value of those commercial rights is maximised by having the right blend of nationalities on the grid. Dorna and by extension Bridgepoint Capital don't give a .... about anything, including mawkish nationalism, except money. A Spanish dominated championship is less valuable than one with a heterogeneous mix of competitors so why would Dorna go out of their way to engineer a situation that was directly counter to their commercial interests? That's right, they wouldn't and don't.

The reasons for the current Imperio espanol are a combination of a excellent feeder series in Spain (CEV) and plain luck that the next once in a generation prodigy happened to Spanish.

That made him even worse if anything. He DNF'ed 6 out of the last 8 races that year. Crutchlow is just plain not as good as Dovi. 2012 proved that beyond any shadow of a doubt. Dovi (1st year on the team and bike) beat Crutchlow (2nd year on the team and bike) by 67 points. Crutchlow is also, as anybody with a passing familiarity with his tweets and public utterances could testify, quite stupid which I think is one of the reasons he has failed to get the best out of the T3 M1 and be considered for elevation into the Valhalla of the Yamaha Factory team.

The spanish are just plain the best out there at the moment. They have superseded past "bests" by their riding, not by how many bums they put on seats.

When you look at Cal he had a dream hiring to Tech3 but did little.

Redding ...... definitely way over rated.

But these guys are not there for their skills, they help Dorna get the money out of the brit. fans pockets.

What a load of bollocks. What about Scott Redding ??

5h in the championship and a best of a solitary second place - not really pushing Marquez in 2012 was he?

But don't get me wrong - I like Redding and think his 2013 season was great, but the weight disparity and a so-so bike in 2012, he was no threat to Marquez.

Get him nannyK!

He said he didn't understand - you state that the other person doesn't understand. It's the semantics that are catching you out, isn't it? You just don't understand...

Weren't those the brakes that Stoner gave back? He said something to the effect to Cal "you should have asked me first" ? And Cal did end up with them and still couldn't pass Dovi.

Part of the point of my above post was Cal is damn fast, one of the fastest on the grid on a single lap and I would say faster than Dovi (who I rate high), but his Achilles heel is passing other riders, has been the entire time in MotoGP. If he sorts that out and Ducati sort their .... out he will be scarey. But not before.

I like you optimism mate and hope you're right. Maybe as we live close we should meet in a pub with BT sport next season and watch a race over a few sherbets.

Sure, sounds good. I have no idea how realistic it would be to find a pub showing GP though. I thought seeing Valencia in a pub would be good times, but I couldn't find any local.

Agree. And now reliance on front should be more detrimental to his pass attempts. Thats been the story for both Dovi & Nicky resulting in a bit of bar bashing just to get ahead given most of the time both riders are joined at the hip during a race.

Finding a pub could be a major task mate. I don't think Tesco are likely to be showing GP haha

I think the reason Yamaha chose Pol over Redding is because they knew that they couldn't finish a race with only 20 litres and Redding on board.

As good as Scott is, there is also a lot of hype about him because he is a Brit. He won 3 races this year; in 2012 Marquez won about that many from the back of the grid.

Pol won 4 races last year, 6 races this year and the WC. He earned his ride at Tech3 this year and I think he will be faster than Rossi.

If Redding was Spanish, you would all be saying he is overated and doesn't deserve to be in MotoGP.

Crutchlow would be an awesome passer if he could just get on the Can-Am factory team. So much front end...

I don't think I'll be surprised about either of the tech3 bikes finishing ahead of Rossi. He's in the Capirossi phase of his career...
