Sounds like conspiracies to me, that sneeky Herve...

"The situation is not satisfying Dorna," says Herve Poncharal, principal of the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team that has signed Espargaro for next season. They don't want MotoGP to be a Spanish championship. For sure they have looked after their national championship (in Spain) very well.  They did what each national federation should do, but only Spain did it properly. They run the championship with almost the same level of organization and seriousness as the world championship."

"Yamaha said they needed to take the best, and Espargaro was the only man who last year pushed Marquez (in Moto2). Marquez is not here because he's Spanish, it's because he's the best. Lorenzo was the best."

What a load of bollocks. What about Scott Redding ??

What about Scott Redding, what load of bollocks?  When MM won his Moto2 championship he finished the season in fifth position.  153 points difference, if the quick math in my head is correct...  Redding did great this year, but like the article says, the only one to challenge MM in Moto2 was Espargaro.

bla bla bla, typical spanish bias. Had Redding not busted his shoulder espargaro would have had no chance this season. Scott was kicking his ... despite being way to big for his moto2 bike. As for the previous season,,, who gives a ....? That's just digging back in a desperate attempt for something to support your  " they don't want a spanish championship" propaganda bollocks.

I guess Yamaha gave a .... since they are the ones that wanted Pol on their payroll.  Sorry Rog, don't understand your comprehension problem.  Yamaha wanted someone that was proven to be able to fight with MM.  Historically, in Moto2, the only person able to do that was Pol.  That was evident in the 2012 season, and that is what Yamaha based their decision on.  Nothing to do with Pol winning the championship this year.  It's too bad SR had an injury and didn't win this year, but Yamaha had already made their move with Pol prior to SR loosing the championship.

If SR would have been the rider battling with MM in 2012, come in second and shown promise he would have been exactly what Yamaha, Tech3 and Dorna wanted.  A nonSpaniard with a proven history of competing with MM, mano a mano.

only pol could take the fight to marquez?

Bradl rode an excellent first half of the 2011 Moto2 season.  Second part, not so much.  I'm sure he was pretty relieved MM crashed in Malaysia under unfortunate weather/track marshal conditions.  It was Bradl's championship to loose that year, and he almost did.

Thanks though Cliche, you reinforce the point of the article I posted.  Bradl is a product of the CEV.   If it wasn't for a Spanish run team, Bleusens I believe, Bradl was ready to hang up his boots and retire at a very young age.  It was the same manager that took care of Maveric if I'm not mistaken.

i agree 100% with you, just do me a favor and never try to school me again on my boy ;)

the spanish system almost made him quit until helmut slapped some sense back into the boy

Not trying to school anyone.  Good on you for knowing the rise, fall, then rise again of Bradl, not many people know it.  I don't think the Spanish system almost made him quit, maybe it was.  Please enlighten me.  I saw Bradl a good racer in 125, then went to .....  Disappeared and talked about retiring and then Bleusens signed him to foster his talents in the CEV.  I'm sure Helmut setting him straight had a lot to do with it too!!

short version:

"man this puig guy and all these little spanish ..... in my class telling me to abstain suck. these .... don't even have girlfriends. .... this ..... AmA go home and be a normal teenager"

something like that

Motogp is a spanish sport period. No British rider would ever be given a chance over a spaniard regardless of previous performance. If the sole reason in giving pol the job was to challenge MM then he would have been given a factory ride. This is nothing more than an attempt to fill the grid with spanish riders from top to bottom. Scott like cal never stood a chance.

That's be quite frank here. The British and Spanish do not like each other and never have. Spain remained neural during WW2 and agreed more with the Nazis than the allies. Relations between our country's are as strained today as they have ever been. Its only our nato connection keeping us from serious conflict of which i assure you spain would loose. Dorna being spanish thought nothing of selling British fans out with the knowledge that it will kill the sport in the uk. If the fans were sold out so easily then a couple of riders is nothing.

Whoa, whoa. Hold up.

Pol "would have been given a factory ride"? Which one exactly? Lorenzo's, Dani's or Rossi's? They all have contracts going into this season. I don't like Pol, but this reasoning doesn't make any sense.

And Spain remained neutral during WW2 because they had just finished having a civil war which left the country drained and the Nazi's helped the winning side (the fascists) win. Of course the Spanish not going to come in on our side.

God save the Queen!

I don't know about the history and all that... but Dorna is not counting on the sport being "killed in the UK", no sir, they are counting on Brits paying extra, and they've dangled the carrot by throwing a few Brit riders onto 2nd tier bikes to keep up your interest.

2015 line up: all Spainish-- Factory Honda: Marquez, Pedrosa, Factory Yamaha Lorenzo, P. Espargaro

Though I think Dorna will step in and do something to move a few seats around since they already know how to manipulate their system (after all, this is exactly how we got to this situation)--an artificial system which has been way too successful.  Reminds me when environmentalist  introduce a specie to "correct" a system, then that specie becomes too invasive and overwhelming, resulting in a need to manipulate the system again.

Remember the new Dorna rule??  the one that allows factorys to field 4 factory bikes. Will Pol's Tech be a factory bike ?
